Ooh, those look absolutely gorgeous, although I think I've seen many of them
before.

I upgraded my computer a week ago. Now I have a brand-new Targa Visionary
AV64 3000+, which is a 64-bit processor running at 2GHz -- no real
advantages from the 64-bit architecture yet, though. Graphics card is ATI
All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro 128MB. I only have 512MB of RAM, which I'm going to
upgrade to 1GB soon. This setup seems to run everything I've tried just
fine. I downloaded the FarCry demo, which ran beautifully with high res and
pretty much every option set to the highest quality. I'm pretty confident
that TDS will run just fine now.

Only problem is, where to get it -- I live in Europe, and I have to find a
store that ships overseas in a reasonable time and with a reasonable
price.... Well, I have one candidate.

Lucky you, early birds.

There's no point - the stuff I order from the US usually takes about
10 days to arrive, and it's due out here mid-June...

I'm planning to download the US version, and then play that while my
pre-ordered UK version ships.

Guess so, but I still went ahead and ordered the game from EBGames. They
claim 5-7 days delivery time to where I live -- guess I'll just have to wait
and see if that holds true.

the environment looks great. however the characters still look like Quake 1
in relation to the angles and 'blockiness' of the characters. sure - their
faces are all shaded and cool looking but everyone looks like a robot shape
wise - weaksauce.

I also noticed a couple of pics did not show any shadow at all. Wonder if
there is an option to turn that off as well.

I've been wondering about this, and have come to the conclusion that the
shadows don't operate when there's only an ambient light source (i.e. at
night and no torches nearby, so you only get the blueness of the night)
