This Why Intel Are Number 1

Solution
What a surprise, Anandtech rushes in to defend Intel. Regardless of whether the chip runs the game or not, what they did was "not cool". Hopefully they will hold a second demo where they apologize for trying to fool people, and actually show a real time demo.

My God, what could Anandtech be thinking in believing people would want to know whether IB runs the DX11 games or not?

Whether the chip runs the game or not is the important thing.

You want to focus on trivialities, because that is what you are about.

if it was a late addition to the demo and they streamed it instead of doing it live, then why not just come forward and say it's a streamed video instead of faking it? nothing to be embarassed of, it happens a lot and most people don't have an issue with it.

play a streaming video, tell me that's what it is, and i'll likely believe your claims. but try to pawn off a streaming video as being live, take me for a fool, and i will question your claims!

Does anybody notice that Mooly Eden states somebody is driving it backstage? Doesn't that sort of tell everyone that it isn't running off of that ultrabook? :pfff:

Edit: As long as the chip runs it, and they aren't blatantly lying, I don't really care. Lying happens all the time in business to keep the stock prices up. If they tried to pawn off bad drivers with this stunt, then I would be more critical of them.

It seems more of an attempt to make a joke than anything else. It wasn't as if they were trying to hide the fact that it was actual game play. The problem with making jokes it that some people get offended. Sometimes what's funny about a joke is not the fact that the joke itself was funny, but the fact that some people are offended.

Yeah, yeah, Intel pays everyone to say their products are great and the best thing since sliced bread. But you know what? The best thing about conspiracy theories is that you do not have to give any proof. All you need to do is claim there is some type of conspiracy going on in the world (whether true or not) and people will flock to those conspiracy theories.

anandtech is messed up. they are so fast to defend intel its not even funny.

They show a demo on undisclosed hardware and claim it to be good to go. No info on the GPU clock or the shaders and also no info on why they can't get it to work on the original computer.

the "case closed" at the end just signified a publication with a biased agenda. I don't know how these people can call themselves journalists.

so youre sayin this according to this one particular video lol what are u even doin here man lol intel is waybetter and faster than intel it can be proven scientifically and numerically im guessing ur a amd fan boy but truth hurts u know intel has the best architecture and speed when it comes to cpu thats why they are more expensive and better, they use smarter guys to build their stuff. AMDs flagship cpu is an equivalent of 2500k lol really after all those years of research and work thats what they came up with ? u just need to overclock i5 750 up to 4.0ghz and u beat their best cpu right now lol

Apparently you didn't watch the entire video or you only choose to hear certain words from that video. At about 31 seconds into the video you can clearly hear the person stating that the game was running from backstage.

u know as soon as i stated watchin the video i knew that wasnt running the game cuz we all know that intel cpu cant run that game alone so obviously he said it too that they were started the game in the back hes not doing it so whats ur point here? wel all know cpus cant run dx11 games without a graphics card

The GPU in Ivy Bridge(HD 4000) is integrated onto the same chip as the CPU.

You do realize that Ivy Bridge does have an integrated graphics core, right? It is called the Intel HD 2500 (on lower end models) and the Intel HD 4000 (higher end models). Intel current Sandy Bridge CPUs have either the Intel HD 2000 or Intel HD 3000 core. Sandy Bridge-E CPUs do not have integrated graphics cores.

AMD's Llano chips can run DX11 games because they have DX11 features built-in. Do they run them well? That a different question since mobile graphic cores have always been less powerful than their desktop counterparts.

Perhaps you are confused by the fact that AMD calls their CPUs + integrated graphic core as "APUs" while Intel simply refers to their CPUs + integrated graphic core as "CPUs". The "APU" terminology is something that AMD came up with to differentiate their products. As for Intel, apparently they decided to stick with the term "CPU".

ah, i see. i don't have sound on my PC at work, i can only go by what i see. and what i saw was some guy obviously not playing the game he was pretending to.

but now that you mention it i will point out that he didn't admit it was faked until 31 seconds later when fakery was already obvious to the audience, not beforehand. which leads me to believe they intended to play everyone for fools, and when that apparently wasn't going to work it was time to go into "save face" mode.

i was originally talkin to this guy (emad_Ramlawi ) why u takin it so personal lol
if ur dumb enough to see and believe this video that cpu with int. gpu or apu can run games like this then no point of buying gtx 580s or hd 6900 people can just go buy these stupid laptops or ultrabooks its ok to waster ur money then u know

i know right they are just tryin to make up stuff from this video, i donno what they were tryiin to do here actually make u believe or not but intel will destroy amd anyday for breakfast its even funny to bring it up lol

an apu can run those games like that no problem.

Apparently, you do not know what a joke is or you do not appreciate jokes.

Generally speaking, in a joke there is a setup, and then a punchline. The setup helps make the punchline funny. In the video, the setup was the person playing F1, the punchline was when he was still playing F1 with both hands off the steering wheel.
