2 that will more than likely be in contention since I guess console games and as-yet-unreleased games are included as well would be Xenoblade Chronicles X and Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem both for the WiiU. The first Xenoblade was great, as well as the Fire Emblem series, so expect big things from these 2 titles as well.

People, why are you posting games that are not even out yet? Are you from the future or something?

My favorite contender so far is The Witcher 3, back in 2011 the Witcher 2 was my favorite contender for the GOTY, the problem was that games sites didn't liked it and the tittle was given to Skyrim (which was good, but i liked the Witcher 2 a lot more), thats not the case with the Witcher 3, most sites gave it perfect scores, making it a strong candidate for the tittle.

Now, lets just wait for what else will come, im desperately waiting for MGSV: The Phantom Pain, i just hope that its up to the hype, knowing Kojima's work its not likely that he'll let us down.

I'd say the GOTY is probably going to go to the Wticher 3. There are some other notable candidates, such as Dying Light, Evolve, and I suppose games like Battlefield: Hardline and Mortal Kombat X, even though I don't believe the last two are all that likely to make the cut. And perhaps Batman Arkham Knight will blow us all away like we hope it will, but going off of what's out right now, I'd say the Witcher 3 takes the cake. Now I haven't gotten that far into the Witcher 3 yet, so it's not like I can say with certainty that it will win GOTY, but first impressions are fantastic. The game's combat has an enjoyable rhythm once you get the hang of it, the amount of quests is almost disturbing, honestly I don't know where I'm going to find the time to finish the actual hundreds of hours of content. And the visuals? I was almost speechless. I mean granted, it's still just as good as a video game can look with the technology we have right now, but with two gtx 970s and a 1440p screen, cranking up the Witcher 3 to max settings gets you 60fps no problem, and it looks BEAUTIFUL. I wish that the PC graphics downgrade hadn't had to have happened, but the game still has the graphical fidelity of.... how do I put it? It's like Crysis 3 and Metro Last Light had a baby. The detail in every character's face, in every landscape, and every little hair on every little monster is incredible. I know that graphics don't make the game, but the Witcher 3 seems like the whole package, mesmerizing visuals, likeable characters, a good start to what should be a fantastic end to the trilogy's story line, very solid game play mechanics, and a whole lot of content. As I said before, there are a whole bunch of potential candidates for 2015, and if we included some games for 2014, the Witcher 3 may not have necessarily beaten out certain games in some people's eyes. But in 2015, these are the candidates I imagine, and I firmly believe the Witcher 3 will take the title of GOTY.

Call of Duty Black Ops III
Tom Clancys The Division
Star Wars Battlefront
The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
And the all new Mad Max :)
