Well, On my R4 Cable Management redux:

First, I tried to route the entire 24 pin ATX behind the back:
Case1.jpg

Looks good, however due to the Sata and Power cables going to my backpanel SSD I was unable to close the backpanel in this configuration.

Second, this is my compromise: don't look as good but at least I can close the backpanel and the cable isn't obstructing airflow.

Looks alright? If I didn't remove my HDD cages I would have been able to hide the cables a little better but since I going for max airflow that's less of a priority.

@hellfire24

Yup the 470 is pretty loud, it seems louder than the two HD 4770s I had in there combined. But it performs way better too.

The heat stays manageable with a custom fan curve. I'm considering removing the HDD cage since I still have room for another HDD in the 3.5" bays (which don't have openings in the front anyways). I just don't know how to get it out, it appears to have rivets holding it in place. Do I drill them out??

Edit:
Here's my case once I removed the unneeded HDD cage
IMG_20120927_185019.jpg

It exposed a stupid white fan! NOOOO, it ruins my whole color scheme. Guess I will be ordering another fan.

yep, you will have to drill them.

He already did :)
look in the dust at the bottom, you can see where it was lol
tidy enough man, tuck those audio cables down the side of the Psu to hide em though, maybe flip the hdd and feed the cables from the front,
Pro-tip for future modding though, if you take everything out of the case, may as well wash it while you're at it 😛

Hey guys here's my new rig I built 4 weeks ago

Motherboard = Gigabyte 970A-D3 rev 1.3
CPU = AMD FX-6100 six core O/C 4.0ghz
Ram = Geil Veloce PC3 12800 1600Mhz 2 x 4gb
GPU = Inno3D Geforce 560GTX se 1Gb
Main Drive = WESTERN DIGITAL CAVIAR GREEN 3.5" 1TB 64MB 7200 rpm
Storage = 2 x Western Digital Green 3.5 1Tb 16mb 5,400 rpm
Optical = TSST Corp CDDVDW SH-222AB ATA
Case = Aerocool Strike X Black
Monitor = Compaq 19" 1440 x 900 LCD
Keyboard = old school mechanical IBM brand unknown
Mouse = Cheap piece of crap gaming 5 button laser
Speakers = Creative A40 Stereo USB

I know my C/M is ... well ... crap to say the least, waiting on payday to buy cables ties and wrap. Very near future mods will be a 256gb ssd of undecided origin and an 8 core Piledriver, possibly a blue ray drive. Main uses are internet, downloading, online, video streaming, home server, video encoding and editing, backup of DVD and some gaming mostly FPS like COD and Battlefield and skyrim for the Missus. Currently running Win 8 RC, will buy Win 8 when available and about to dual boot Xubuntu 12.04 for some steamy penguin action killing Zombies. Also running VMWare running Win 98se and soon snow leopard osx... why, because I can.

It may seem like dust but it isn't, what your seeing is fresh paint. I had to paint the portion that was under the sides of the HDD cage because it was bare underneath there. And I never had everything outside of the case, although if i did washing it would've been a good idea. I did use a can of air duster and a cloth to clean up as much as I could in there.

I did take your advice and I tucked in the audio cables. Did that while I was installing a new CPU the other day (955 @ 4.0Ghz). If anyone is interested in how high I can clock it with stability, I'll be posting in the AMD overclocking club possibly tonight or tomorrow.

I ordered a new fan to replace the white one in front and I bought two more sticks of ram. I was able to get a 2*4Gb kit that matched my old 2*2Gb kit exactly except for obviously the chip density/capacity.

Perhaps when I get that fan and the ram installed I will edit my old post with a new picture

Its been along time but I will be posted my new build this weekend.

Nice rig, be sure to clean off that IBM Model M! *jealous*

Thanks mate, just installed fraps, on Skyrim maxed I get a constant 60fps, who said bulldozer was crap, I wanted an i5 but couldn't afford $200 for the one I wanted, this is my first AMD (excluding the crappy Sempron in my lady's lappy) always had intel's before, first a P4 prescott 3.4ghz with a 6600 geforce, upgraded the card to a HD 6670 last november and could max Doom 3 under wine and have it smooth as butter, then I inherited a Pentium D at he start of this year with a 8600 gts, so I've had 2 of the shittest Intel's ever. I only paid $140 for the bulldozer. It only takes 30 minutes to rip 5 episodes of CSI Miami from dvd and convert them to MP4's, I call that money well spent, a total of $650, I already had the dvd drive and the 2 storage drives, they where in my P4. Suffice to say I'm as happy as a pig in ***. Ive decided 8Gb of ram shits on 2Gb lol

Best case scenario would be to replace both. A modular or semi-modular PSU would be best. Look for a case that has cable management holes and room behind the M/B tray.

If that's not possible than get some cable ties and do the best you can.

This may help you out some,
the second link is my other halfs rig which is a similarly bad case for trying to manage cables, but read all of the main page before wandering off :)
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/343995-13-cable-management
We'd need you to post pics of your actual rig though, maybe start a thread and link it here?
and don't provoke Proxi's wrath, he's locked this thread before and I get withdrawals hehe
