Okay guys. Here's my brand new machine. I haven't done any real modding yet, just replacing stock fans with red LED ones.

fx8120 CPU
1 XFX 6850 GPU
Crosshair V mobo
16GB 1600 Corsair Vengeance RAM
120gb Corsair ForceGT SSD
1TB 7200 RP Seagate Barracuda HDD
Corsair HX (I swore I ordered the AX series...) 850w PSU

I've also got two 4 inch cold cathode red lights coming in on Monday.

What would you do to hide those then? I'm sure I could get a cable wrap for the hddled, reset, and power connectors down there, but the others I'm honestly not sure.

Cable wrap and run them underneath the mobo, neat as you like hehe
the exhaust fan can also be wrapped and poked into a corner,
I'm not sure what that middle wires is going to near the Cpu?
As I said originally though, its not bad, just picky tweaks to perfect it :)
*Edit, if getting wrap, you can wrap the gfx cards wires to that red sata lead, hiding it and pulling the gfx ones a little tighter/neater**

Rebuilt yet again but i cant be arsed with the cables... mobo needs to be replaced so meh.

The sideways mount of that case throws me off. Not sure how to look at it.

Also it looks like you have the same speakers I used to have and gave to my wife before moving to my Creative setup.

On a side not, I did some tweaking and got my 2500K at 4.5GHz using 1.28v instead of 1.34v stable through 10 IBTs using Very heavy RAM and 10 hours of Prime95 Small FFts. Tried for 1.27v but it BSoD once on first boot and would fail by the second or third IBT using VH. Didn't mess with Prime95, just went and upped it to 1.28v.

There was an issue with P67 motherboards when they first came out with boot loop problems.

Before you chuck the motherboard I'd verify you have the latest BIOS. If you've already done this, then well "sorry for your loss"

If it makes you feel better I have to RMA my new motherboard too... :(

Yea. IBT now maxes CPU at 70-73c vs 75-80c and Prime is 55-65c so about a 10c drop overall. Still make me wonder if I went with a Corsair 100 and some nice fans for push/pull if I could easily hit 5GHz on stock or near stock voltage because stock for the 2500K is normally 1.33v so I might have gotten lucky like I did with my Q6600 (3GHz at lower than stock voltage) and QX6850 (3.5GHz stable with less than stock voltage).

I guess I will have to save up and see some day but I mainly game so the 5GHz would be nothing more than a e-peen award.

I have flashed errr 3 different bios's even a GD55 bios.

Shoulda gone Asus :p

Just kiddin, MSI isn't bad. But I do prefer Asus. Never have had any of their mobos die on me. Well I had my P8P800 Deluxe die after 8 years of working, caps ended up crowning finally. Still 8 years is a feat for a mobo running a P4 EE 3.4GHz.

OK
this week I have some serious shuffling/upgrading/building going on so pics will be coming one unit at a time.
there will not be windowed cases so don't expect me to go 'moto' with the cable management.
two units getting upgrades and added some parts to make a complete build that will be an upgrade for my parents.
so three sets of pics.

(what happened).
while upgrading my son's unit (lil mal) to AM3 from AM2+ all I needed was the motherboard, I have RAM.
I called my pops and asked if he wanted to sell his Dell and I'll hook him up because I have extra parts.
his unit sold in less than 12hrs on eBay.
(100%) eBay seller rating - FYI.. :sol:

new hardware is in blue, basically my parents will be getting what was 'ms mental' hardware as she got a little upgrade.
full details on configuration page and pics to come.
stay tuned.

ms mental
-------------
Intel Core i3-2120 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
MSI H67MS-E43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel H67

lil mal (age 6)
-------------
Phenom II X3 720 (2.8GHz) Heka
ASUS M4A88TD-M/USB3 880G

parents
-------------
Intel Core i3-2100 Sandy Bridge (3.1GHz)
ASRock H61M-GE LGA 1155 Intel H61 HDMI

Nice. My boss is a 100% EBay selelr plus he has over 1K sold. We part out old PCs and sell the CPUs and other stuff. And he is selling my old mobo, RAM and CPU then I will see what I can get for my wife to up her rig a bit.

BTW, what cases? My wife has the CM Elite 310. Not the best for cable management but I got her a Corsair 550TX so there aren't as many extra cables plus the case looks nice.

:) Confirmed the sale and getting 225 for selling my 955/790FX-GD70/V8/Patriot 4GB DDR3 1333

Probably going to get the:
i5 2500K $180
rice match Newegg @ Fry's with the GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 (Since Fry's actually has this in the store rather than the Asrock Extreme3 Gen3 Z68 which will have to be shipped. $150
Going to go out of the Hyper 212 Evo bandwagon and get the Enermax ETS-T40 T.B.SILENCE $33
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835214023&Tpk=enermax%20t40

How's these look?

Haha not an itch but I can't wait out until AMD releases Piledriver, and I just don't think AMD can pull this off with Piledriver being similar to Bulldozer. I've lost hope for the Red team in CPUs, I definitely am going to be getting a red team card though, just not a CPU.

Well... Idk, the Enermax seems solid.

Seems to perform well against even high end coolers. Scratch that, with overclocking the T40 fails. Guess it's back to the drawing board.

Any price range for cooler? I love my Zalman 9900Max. Only wish we had the 12X in stock instead though as it looks cool but the 990Max with the blue LEDs looks great and performs about the same. But the 12x uses W-DHT (Whole-Direct Touch Heatpipes) which means no seperators between the heatpipes and as well composite heatpipes, in the 990Max and up, which helps a lot.

Here it is, a week old machine:

QDySM.jpg

Case: Corsair Obsidian 650D
PSU: Enermax Modu-87 700 Watt, 80Plus Gold
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K, with be quiet cooler
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws-X 4x4 GB Kit, DDR3-1333, CL7-7-7-21@1.5V
Graphics: Club 3D GTX-560 Ti CoolStream 2GB GDDR5, with more quiet Accelero Twin Turbo II cooler so that I can actually hear the game audio
HD: 2x Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB (one is not in the picture)

I'm pretty happy now, the PSU fan, 200mm case fans, CPU fan and GPU fans are all quite quiet!

Man nice build! Good choice on the motherboard. Don't get anything below the pro, just because it sucks for OCing. I made a mistake and got the P8Z68 - V LX. Any ways, was the Twin Turbo hard to install?

It was not very hard, but it was a bit a gamble because the graphics card is a non reference card, and while very silent, it cools only 5 degrees lower than the stock cooler.
