Damn there cheap. I'm wanting to get 3 monitors for SLI surround, and It would be cheaper for me to buy 3 of them Acers than it would be for me to buy another 2 Samsungs.

Not sure if I should though... I'm already buying another GTX 570, a Blackwidow keyboard and Corsair SP2500 speakers http://www.scan.co.uk/products/corsair-gaming-audio-series-sp2500-high-power-21-pc-speaker-system-232watts-rms-wired-controller

Them Corsairs are more than loud enough to piss the whole neighbourhood off.
but its not about loudness its about clarity Those speakers have some sh*t hot engineering in them.

I'd have them over Sony Genezis anyday

First time PC builder. Trying to do research online and everything and coming up with a "list" that I think will give me a good gaming system. Please feel free to tells what I am doing wrong and what I should change because there is no way I have this all correct. This is going to be strictly gaming as I have my laptop for everyday use.

I made sure the motherboard worked with the CPU and cards or at least I believe they do based off of the manufacturers site. I know this is a pretty penny pc but I want to get it right the first time and have an ultimate gaming experience. Am I going overboard in areas? Or am I using the wrong stuff? Would love any feedback as this is a big project I am taking on.

New to posting here (been a lurker for about 6 months) so figured I'd post a pic of my problem child/build. It's not as clean as these beautiful builds on here, but it's my first build. Still got some issues to work out after returning from a 3 week vacation: one 2TB went out last week meaning I'll most likely lose my media storage, flickering screen when transferring from desktop to 7MC and back, and 7MC Live TV playback issues (freezing, weak signal messages, recordings failing).

**Future plans: custom case for 4-6 HHDs (once the prices go down) so I can get rid of Dynamic Disk and do true RAID so I don't lose my media again. End goal is to have at least 4TB of storage in RAID 5 or 1+0 (still not sure which I prefer yet).

The perforated fan in badtaylorx's build strikes me as strange. Would perforations on the side actually reduce actual airflow to where it needs to go?

i think its a negative pressure thing.....the fan creates it while forcing air from one side to another and a small amount gets sucked in through those holes and added to whats already on its way to the radiator.....

Out of the ashes heres a PC i built for a friend 4 years ago, which recently gave up the ghost, the reason being is that had recently had his PC room plastered and had forgotten to cover up his PC. So when i got it back i had to disassemble every tiny little bit and thoroughly clean it including a very complicated 9800GX2, i even took the case outside and hosed it down to get rid of the 2 inches of plaster dust, before drying it off. Then i carried out a a few cooling mods installing bottom mounted fans to give me that bottom to top chimney cooling effect i do so love which will also help to keep the 9800GX2 cool as it needs all the help it can get. Then i carried out a full respray in Satin Black, ire-installed everything an put Windows XP SP3 on it as its now going on ebay.

yup....your a lil better c.m. away from a pretty nice rig....get some zip ties and condense as much as you can as close to the psu as you can....also remove your mobo and run that cpu power under, up and out by its socket.....you'll be happy you did

Same here, I got my amBX Professional Lighting and Sound for $70.

After selling my current speakers(which were free) for $35 I only came out of pocket $35 for my amBX speakers.
