Toshiba tecra 8000 laptop, how to disable the password

yo when i go on the laptop it tells me to write the username and password. i get the username right but i forgot my password so what can i do to disable the password and username so i can get on to the laptop.

I presume you are using Windows XP ? you can download a free utility called "ophcrack" and burn it to CD. then set your PC to boot from CD and hopefully ophcrack will find your password.

There are cases where it wont - but success rate is very high.
