Question Transfering old HDD to a new pc

Hey there, i have no idea about this one & tried to google but i find the wrong results.
So basically on my current setup i'm running windows 10 on a SSD and i have a 1tb HDD for my data(HDD does not have OS installed)
But i will be getting another computer that will have just an ssd there (OS will be installed on SSD Win10) so i wanted to move my HDD to the new computer.
How do i go about doing this?
Do i just plug it in and thats it? Do i have to format the HDD or?
Hopefully you guys understand what i mean, english is not my first language.

If you are moving a data drive (no OS) to another PC to be a data drive (no OS) you just plug it right in and make sure the SSD is the boot drive in the BIOS.

Exactly this. Is it better if i keep the files of the HDD afterwards or format ?

You should be perfectly fine keeping the files, Ive done it several times.

Yep...moving a secondary drive between systems is no problem.
