Trying to oc...

I'm trying to oc, but the multiplier that im trying to change is greyed out and I cant select it.

the bios is the one from BIOSTAR A740G M2+

Normally there's an option called 'Manual' that needs to be selected before overclocking-related options becomes available for use.
Before you do any overclocking tho, make sure you have flashed to the latest BIOS first.

figured out i didnt buy the black edition so i cant change the multiplier...

how can i safely oc it without changing the multiplier?

look to get at least 3ghz out of my x2 5000

You have to overclock the FSB, instead of the multiplyer.
