Hello all,
I managed to get my brand new PC to blue screen crash, which is a personal record for me. I also saw a string of error codes, which I didn't note down, but my PC is configured to write this info into the system event log and to generate small memory dump files.
The relevant MS help page seems to be Article 314084
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q314084
I suspect that a device driver might be causing the problems, and so obviously I'd like to run the programs dumpchk and pstat from a command window to figure out more. However, I get the error message "dumpchk is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." Same goes for pstat.
I gather that dumpchk has not been installed on my PC. I'm not sure why this is, since the operating system is Windows XP with service pack 2, I thought these two debugging tools came as standard.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Ian.
