Question under performing Intel Core i5-8265U

So, i just went out to buy this laptop today for school, and i decided to run a userbenchmark to see how it performed. well, i noticed that my CPU, the Intel Core i5-8265U was under performing significantly. I tried rolling back drivers and changing power setting to best performance, but nothing changed. The benchmark also says that all my benchmarks were incomplete as well. Any ideas on how to fix this?

background usage too high. check what is using cpu resource

return it and get one with ssd

thanks, but im a college student, im not exactly made of money. for some reason, after my fifth time of running the benchmark things went up. idk what i did differently, but it seems okay now.
