Just out of curiosity, I ran this on my Latitude D830.

This was the result:

cklaubur - Core 2 Duo T7500 @ 2.2 GHz - Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M stock speeds, 256 MB discrete memory - 1.2 FPS - 49

Honestly, I'm surprised it ran at all. I just ran it at the defaults it picked (DX 11, High Quality, no AA, fullscreen 1920x1200).

I don't think so. The display driver crashed when I tried a run on the Extreme preset just a couple of minutes ago.

I wish I still had my old HP6735s here, that had onboard HD3000 GPU. I'm sure that would be 0.2 fps, lol. I donated it to a family member I'll try running it next time I'm round there.

New runs with newer monitor

stock run:
[smeezekitty] - [Core 2 Duo E6700 @ 2.66] - [Radeon 6670 @ 800 / 667] - [8.4] - [353]

CPU overclocked to 3GHz:
[smeezekitty] - [Core 2 Duo E6700 @ 3.00] - [Radeon 6670 @ 800 / 667] - [9.4] - [393]

Well, got a new card?
You're on! Well, I have exams this week so I've got my new card, but will not be able to install it until Saturday.
I have a 1440x900 monitor as well, so I think I'll also use this same preset.

Nah just OC

OK will wait

A GTX650 should be able to beat the 6670 no problem

So I've tested, and this is the result of my 650:
(Note: it's in DX9 as I have XP which is loaded, so I cannot install Vista/7)
cst1992 - Core 2 Duo e4600@2.4GHz - Gainward GTX650 1058/1249 - 18.1 FPS - 757
Presets matching smeezekitty; however I got similar result with 8xAA 18.3 FPS - 766

Nice run. Looks I need to upgrade soon
This is my run with DX9 with the card at 840,715
I tried to max the core clock slider to 900 but the benchmark crashed LOL

whoo. That's quite a jump.
BTW what is the name of the software that provides the readings on the top left in the violet colours?
I saw it on youtube once, but didn't know what it was.
(All this typing in US English has gotten me dropping letters in spellings lol)

This is the best it's going to get till 2019 atleast for me, no new gaming PC's till I complete my postgraduation(2017) and get a job, get settled and save up enough money.
Even a laptop's integrated GPU is not coming to my rescue: the 650 is faster.
BTW do you know how to alleviate CPU bottlenecks in games like LA Noire? Those games are just inefficient console ports I think.
I wanted 30 in that game, but the CPU bottleneck says I would get max 22.
Also I didn't get 60 in NFS Hot Pursuit either; again CPU bottleneck, maxes out at 56.
However, bright side is, sharp picture clarity. No more blurry fat lettering to deal with in games. I can easily max out my monitor.

MSI afterburner is the software that provides that display. It also is a good OCing program and has video and screenshot capabilities

Yeah Americans spell things strangely compared to other English speaking countries :)

Yeah the CPU can hurt performance quite a bit. I overclocked mine to 3GHz which helped to some extent.
Close any unnecessary programs while running games. Every CPU cycle counts on an old CPU like a C2D

I am thinking of trying Razer Gamebooster (http://www.razerzone.com/gamebooster) to see if it helps at all

Well I overlocked the R9 270 to 1050/1500 (from 955/1400) for an amazing gain of... 0.9 fps. lol. Hmmm, not really worth it, right? I still haven't done anything with the CPU, but as I'm still happy with the system I'm OK with that. I was just a little bit bored tonight :) One great thing about that R9 card though (apart from how cheap it was) is how quiet it is, temps max out around 65 degrees or so and the fan is not really audible unless you're right next to the case. I like.

I'm using an old PC build from 3-5 years ago, but I recently replaced my GPU to a MSI GTX 770 2GB Twin Frozr OC edition. It have three modes - Stock, Gaming, and OC. I did the benchmark with each modes.

viceboy - AMD Phemon II X4 @ 3.4 GHz - 770 @ 1085/1753

So... Since my last post I have been busy upgrading and tweeking..

I purchased a quite rare GPU, the GTX 660 OEM. This is actually closer related to a GTX 760 than a retail 660, as it shares the GK104 gpu and has 1156 cuda cores, but has lower core and memory clocks than the 760.

I picked it up for the bargain price of £82 used.

Here is what it did, totally stock, no tweeking:

I also had purchased a NZXT Kraken G10 bracket to water cool this card, and I have rigged it up to a Corsair H55. I have now unlocked the bios and started tweeking and overclocking, highest temp I have seen is 37'c :)

This is where I am at so far, but there is more to be gotten out of it :) :

I am a bit concerned for the new cards I got. Something is amiss and I aim to get to the bottom of it. 3640 on the 780 sli reference models WITH 150 core/250 memory (temps were fine). My previous score on my 760s was 3350....
