I have been wanting to buy an i5-9600K and a Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming K3 motherboard to go with it, but the issue is that it needs a certain BIOS version (F10) to support 9th gen CPU's. As i dont have a coffee lake CPU just lying around i would have to update my BIOS in another way. Would it be possible to use, say, Q-Flash to update the mobo using a USB-stick? Or is the only way to get a compatible CPU and update it?

Gigabyte have Q-Flash and Q-Flash Plus (IIRC). Only the 'plus' variant allows BIOS updating without a compatible CPU.
Other vendors have similar - the ability to update the BIOS without a compatible CPU on hand is typically limited to only the absolute upper-tier boards.

Looks like that specific board is Q-Flash only.
Support for Q-Flash
