upgrade to faster??

i have 1Gb of pc 3200 ram and im trying to get another gig of pc 4000 for crysis can i have two differnt ram on a motherboard? so should i get the faster one (if i can) or just get 2 gigs of the pc 3200 ram?

just get 2 gigs of pc3200, anything "faster" is for overclocking and you'd need both of them to be pc 4000 for that.

More, faster RAM is best. It is relatively cheap now so a good time to upgrade. However, ff you match two sticks of RAM with different speeds, they both run at the speed of the slower. So buy one 3200 pr two 4000. Are you sure your MB supports the faster RAM? Keep in mind that you most likely will not be using this slower memory on your next PC.

more ram would be better, the issue with buying pc4000 is that it will run at the same speed as the pc3200 because while it is rated for a higher speed, motherboards aren't.

Basically, the only way to get pc4000 to run at it's rated speed is to increase the stock fsb (aka overclocking your system)
