So i'm currently thinking of upgrading my crappy pc ( i can buy a used i5 2500k it's not used that much but i guess you can say it's in mint condition) I can also get an gtx 1050 ti 4gb Windforce OC edition but idk which to get first. I wanna be able to play games at high settings tho not every game since it is a gtx 1050 we are talking about and i'm sick of seeing my cpu being around 90% utilization my current cpu is a Pentium G630 dual core 2 threads no Hyperthreading. My gpu is an old GT 610 1gb vram depleted to 970 mb according to CYRI. Please respond so i can have the second most powerful pc in my school my gym teacher has an i7 9th gen and a gtx 1080 she plays fortnite at epic settings at locked 60 fps OOF

I won't be playing too much cpu or gpu intensive games i'll be playing some games like Overwatch,tf 2,gta v, watch dogs 2, CSGO and Fnite and a small BR game called Realm Royale and possibly stream them however i can

An I5 2500k and 1050ti is a good upgrade path.
It might not allow for maxed-out settings, but most games should be fine at 1080p.

I would get the GPU first. Your CPU will certainly limit the 1050ti, but it will merit more performance than the CPU upgrade would.

What are your full system specs including make and model of psu?

you might wanna buy the gpu 1st but your cpu will still bottleneck your system....If I were you I'd split the budget for both....look for the recommended cpu and gpu of the games you wanna play...

i don't know the make and model of my PSU but I think it was 500+ watts (not sure) my current CPU is Pentium g630 2.7ghz 2 core 2 thread CPU, my GPU is an old ASUS GT 610 1gb VRAM (970 MB usable) DDR3 version.

My HDD is a Hitachi HDS721050CLA360 ATA Device split into a C and D drive ( it has 464 GB of storage)
My mobo is an Asus H61M-VS fully updated bios. If you need any more info feel free to ask!!

I would first of all research if the i5 2500k is gonna bottleneck the gtx 1050ti, But from I read it's not even a bad experience, you should not get much frame drops (Really depends on what game but most should run fine) and there should not be any stutters,

i don't think it should bottleneck the 1050ti but if i can i'll increase my budget to purchase a 3570k

2500k and 1050ti is a good pairing. 3570k is only marginally better.

The 4 thread 2500k will get saturated by modern games and may stutter in really demanding titles, but overall its a good pairing with a 1050ti.

The 1050ti is pretty efficient so any ok psu should work. Your motherboard is compatable.

Tbh i see a lot of people rocking old i7s as they are still pretty dang good for gaming.

The 4 thread i5s can still game pretty well too, but the 2600 is better.
i guess with the i7 2600 i will be able to add destiny 2 at low to med settings to my list of games. The Yao Yue Store seems legit, their target audience is gamers and they even got asian women to wear white intel shirts lol

Dont trust userbenchmark anymore. They recently changed the weighting so that better single threaded cpus always win.

Also according to userbenchmark The $100 Core i3 9100f quad core beats the $2000 18 core intel core i9 9980 extreme edition.

The 2600l will certainly beat the 2500k.
