Question USB C not working?

I recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad 3 Gaming laptop to have something to use on the go an and noticed it had a USB C port on the side next to the charging port. Upon plugging in a USB C to USB C cable it doesn't want to read data or charge itself when plugged into a USB hub with 100W of power is it just a bad USB C port or am I missing something?

Yes and no. I bought cables for display, power transfer, and data transfer. If it can charge winwin, but mainly I just wanted it transfer files which it keeps failing to do.

I was trying to transfer data from my phone. It sees it, but it loads incredibly slow and like 68% files don't load and when I try to move or access them it says "Device unreachable"

test with another device?

Without, just a cable straight to the phone usbc to usbc. The phone's standard cable, Which is USB 3 to USB c, works just fine and I can move files and such easily.
