Hello,
Specs- ASUS H81-plus motherboard
Graphics card Gigabyte 1060 6GB

I recently upgraded my graphics card, after replacing it and plugging everything back in the monitor read “USB device over current status detected, shutdown after 15 seconds”
I replaced my PSU to see if the problem was fixed because the graphics card needed more power however that didn’t solve anything
I have unplugged the front USB ports off the motherboard and no visible signs of damage to any of the ports are present, It won’t even let me open the BIOS
We are really stumped and hope anyone has any sort of ideas

Cont. Just wondering if the motherboard could be damaged or the USB’s on the back are damaged inside and if I would have to replace the motherboard and how I could fix this. Plus another thread with a similar issue has the same motherboard

Mine did the same and I tried all the steps people recommended. It turned out to be green residue like you see on a car battery on the mobo behind the mobo usb ports. I had to remove the shield. Had 3 screws on the back of the mobo. I wiped it off and cleaned it and it worked.
