Hey there! I feel like I'm going insane. I am trying to host a dedicated Valhiem server for me and my friends to play on. I have an old Optiplex 3050 running Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS . I have the server files installed and they run when I start the server. I have all the required ports forwarded on the firewall of the machine hosting the server, as well as on my router with the internal IP address field pointed to the machine hosting the server as well. I'm very new to anything networking and hosting related so I'm really not sure what i did wrong.
as an aside, I had been hosting the world from my Windows machine like normal:
start the game -> host server -> set password -> launch and my friends were able to connect. but now they can't so even that doesn't work now, whereas it used to. I've since reset my router and re-forwarded the ports and nothing is working. any help would be appreciated.
