The guy who started this is.. humm. Strange. But then again, I'm a newbie, so who am I to comment?

But it DID get me nostalgic - my very first PC, Pentium 200MHz, 64MB RAM, Fujitsu 2GB & Maxtor 3GB HDD's, ATI 2MB PCI video card, Asus CDRW (installed later) and Creative SoundBlaster...

It still works perfectly with no signs of weakness whatsoever and I just haven't had the heart to throw it away after years of loyal service.
And so, right now, this oldie sits on a shelf in my kitchen and plays mp3's (cool replacement for a kitchen radio, huh?)
:)

We are not supposed to get personal. Please take back the statements about my wife. Thank you.

I don't know if you got my joke, so i'll explaine.

loveamd's theory about "dark suckers" was what you were replying to. According to your reply, your wife is a "dark sucker", my joke implies she is a black c**k sucker.

ACtually corvette guy I lied. I was thinking of a girl I met in Place Pigale who was from Martinique, but if I say more I will destroy the natural beauty of this insane thread

61 Corvette
Polar White
4 Speed
2x4 Barrel 283
4.11 Rear end, and now back to computers.....

I find old pc all the time[ most with better specs], I give them to a friend who makes M.A.M.E machines. They run the classic games from the 70s fine. Make a half ass case with and old monitor an it's worth some real $$.

I think the guy has it all wrong .... Once he buys or gets his power cord, he should try to overclock it.

He could buy it for $5, overclock it to say 100Hz and sell it for $10. ... perhaps his friend will want a faster power cord to go with his new PC.

Ugh, you guys think i'm stupid and im laughing at that thread but its really serious.
Well if you won't buy a new power cord, let someone mail you one for free, just borrow one from another PC to at least test with, or shoplift one from a shop, then what's left? Stare intently until your psychic powers allow you to channel the electricity from the outlet into the PC? Lick your fingers on both hands, stick one set into the PC, and the other set into the outlet? I'd think even you would have to admit by this point that it's hard to take you seriously.

took him long enough to realize we were making fun of him even though somewhere on this thread i swear i told him he was an idiot and other things a bunch of time, along with some helpful advise.

After a group discussion on the whole matter, I've been asked to post this:

Reasons to have a very old computer

1. You can leave the door to the computer room unlocked.
2. No need to search for updated drivers; your present set are the latest
version already from five years ago.
3. No need to worry about compatibility with modern gear. None of it will
work anyway.
4. There is tons of information on the internet; if the pages are still up.
5. No need to scan Newegg for upgrades.
6. You will not invoke the jealousy of your friends.
7. You will earn the everlasting contempt of all true fanboys. That's good.
8 Your Windows 95 will play a lot of neat games.
9. The dog or a kid can knock the unit to the floor and you won't have a
fatal heart attack. It will probably still work anyway.
10. It's really cheap.

D’après ce que je peux voir tu te débrouilles assez bien avec un ordino.
Et tu semble ignorer les conseils que tout le monde te donne. A moins qu’il y ais un problème de langages?

My God I can't believe how long this thread has gone on. The dude is bullshitting. Read his other posts.

Damn... I am really serious! i'm just 'newb' at computers.

I don't doubt your newbness. But you're smart enough to post screenshots in a forum yet we're supposed to believe you don't even know how to plug a computer in.

can you translate that, i think i got it but not sure.

Translation:
From what I have seen from you so far, you seem pretty good with a computer. And you seem to ignore advises from every body. Unless there is a language problem.

Exhaustive research has determined that your very old computer will never work again. Please throw your very old computer away and proceed with the rest of your life.
