Hi there,
I have a GTX 1660 graphics card and I was disappointed to find out that it only had HDMI and DisplayPorts. Both of my monitors are VGA for the time being. I was able to use an VGA-to-HDMI converter to get my main display on. However, the graphics card only has 1 HDMI port, and the rest are DP. So I bought a VGA-to-DP converter, but when I tried it out, the system doesn't detect that any new monitor was attached. I'm pretty new to the DP style of ports, obviously, so is there something I'm missing here? It should at least detect that something is plugged in, right?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Monitor port adapters are available in "Active" and "Passive" types, with the former type being more expensive since they have an integrated digital-to- analogue signal converter.

You most likely need an "Active" one like this
