VIA Drivers necessary w/ Win XP?

I just built a system with an ASUS A7V8X (KT400)and a XP 2400. I'm using Win XP Pro, SP1. I didn't install any of the VIA drivers (4 in 1, AGP, USB 2.0) that were included on the ASUS software CD, and the system seems to be running great.

This is my first experience with a VIA chipset in a long, long time. Should I install the VIA drivers to increase performance, or does XP include the best drivers already? What's your opinion?

Thanks.

Depending on how old your Win XP Cd is will determine what revision of the 4 in 1's that are on them. Don't use the ones from the Asus CD either. Go here: http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=2 and get the latest release 4.43. There's a reason they release new drivers, so use them to get rid of any minor glitches.

I dont know whether sp1 installs newer 4in1 drivers. If you experience no problems I would leave it how it is. Apart from maybe AGP drivers if u are a gamer. You might get better results from newer drivers. Stability is worth more IMHO

try it out.. system restore is a beaut.
