I just recently formatted my Asus G73JH Laptop, however while using the laptop (surfing the internet or simultaneously using the programs Sketchup and AutoCAD 2011) the video card keeps crashing or the screen freezes!

Here are the specs of the Laptop:

System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
System Model: G73Jh
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 740 @ 1.73GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.7GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 6068MB RAM
Card name: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Series (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 Graphics)

Here the errors that I ecounter:

The screen goes black. Sometimes the video card recovers however this is what happens:

Or sometimes this happens

when this happens, the laptop rarely recovers.

I hope you could help me with this.

It looks a lot like a failing video chip. You might first try replacing the RAM as a first diagnostic step, but it's likely that GPU will need replacement. Since this is a gaming laptop it will have a separate GPU in contrast with most laptops in which the graphics chip is integrated into the motherbaord.
