It's more complicated than it sounds. First, when posting this type
of inquiry please include the Vendor/Model # of your video card.
Is your video an on-board motherboard chip or a dedicated AGP
or PCIe card - How much video RAM does the card have.
Also to assist us in diagnosing the problem has this problem started
recently or existed for a long time ? (Drivers & Program installs
can sometimes result in new seemingly unrelated issues appearing).
As far as playing images - is it content on your disk drive or CD
or something you are streaming from the Net ? Which player is
being used ? If it is streaming, how do you connect to the Internet
(Broadband or Dialup) ?
For general Multi-media testing you should use DXDiag.Exe which
is part of XP. You should be using the latest DirectX version 9.0C
and video drivers. Also, for proper AGP operation you need to
install the latest Chipset driver package for your motherboard.
