I have a problem playing any type of Video on my PC, My Pc just stops responding whenever i try playing any video. i tried diffirent media players but the problem is the same.
I used the Windows Help center and lowered the hardware acceleration level from the display properties to about 3 points and the problem disappeared. but i can't run any of my games in this state so inow i switch between full acceleration and half acceleration whenever i want to do something. It's getting really annoying. Is there a solution?

PS: I think it's a directx problem although the directx diagnostics says there are no problems in directx.

install any codec packs lately?

what if you uninstall your video card drivers and install the latest ones, assuming you're not just using the software drivers supplies by windows

No, I'm just using VLC Media Player, Which I'm told has his own codecs.

As i said b4 i think it's a Direct x problem although nothing seems wrong

I'm having the same problem and posted a thread in the help and support forum. Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on the issue.

I got mine working again after I installed the latest BIOS updates for my motherboard and updated the drivers for my soundcard. I'm not sure what the hangup was with these components, but it worked 😀

Good luck to you!
