I have gone through tremendous trouble to bring my PC from America to Japan.

Unfortunately, my 630w power supply is 115v input (or 230) and Japanese outlets are only 100v. What will happen if I attempt to use one of their outlets?

What do I need to do to get my PC to work over here? Is my only option buying a 1000w power converter to 100v? One of those things are tremendously expensive over here.

Well, laptops are a different matter all together. I'm talking about a desktop PC. I brought it through my luggage all the way from the US.

Forget a power convertor, just buy a new PSU in japan and swap it out for your current one, presumably it will have a 100v input on it..... will be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a power convertor.

(its also worth checking the information label on your current PSU, the 115v/230v settings are probably notional the power supply may accept a wider range of volatges than the switch on the back indicates....
