I'll put my PC inside the meat freezer room and play Crysis 3.

I wonder what the recommended spec will be. I hope mine meets that. i7 2600k, gtx 570 SC, 8gig 1600mhz ram, WD 1tb black on 27" LG 1920 x 1080.

[citation][nom]SchizoFrog[/nom]True fact: I'd still rather play Skyrim.[/citation]

And Skyrim can look nearly just as good with the right mods, and still run better then Crysis 1!

Good this is what I like to hear! Yes graphics are not the most important, but it all depends on the game. When I play Crysis I play for average fun, but mainly for the coolness factor, and the graphics, and pushing my machine to the max. Im glad they are continuing the tradition. Maybe Ill finally have an excuse to upgrade from my SLI 480s as they destroy everygame maxed.

Ahem! Couldn't resist to tout your PC's specs in public, hmm? :p

"Many Crytek fans grew bitter after the company chose to shift its focus over to the consoles. Crytek blamed the new love on piracy, but the true cause is likely due to the popularity of the lucrative Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, and that it's essentially cheaper to develop for a single hardware set."

Isn´t there piracy in consoles?

[citation][nom]vicsrealms[/nom]So, I guess that means its only using Origin as a digital download.[/citation]

i cant say i hate origin, that is a bit too strong a descriptor for a piece of software, but it does periodically drink cpu cycles(aroung 60%) at idle; a restart of the app always resolves this.

The real question is, are we going to be fed the console version on day one and then have to wait six months for trash dx11 port and a texture pack.

[citation][nom]Netherscourge[/nom]They need to stop worrying so much about shiny graphics and get more focused on the shoddy AI issues. The AI in some Crysis/Far Cry games are laughable.[/citation]

I liked Crysis 2, but not nearly as much as Crysis and Crysis Warhead. Crysis 2 was a good FPS, but playing Crysis and Crysis Warhead made me feel like Superman. The nanosuit in Crysis 2 was weaker, and it felt more I was playing a somewhat upgraded Master Chief.

Also, being able to save anywhere I want allowed me to simply think "I'll save and screw around some. Let's put these cars together and blow them up!" I hope Crysis 3 puts it back in/

cheap hardware is so much more massively powerful now than consoles or even pc's from 3 years ago that it's going to be very very hard to push the envelope that far i think. Well as long as they keep trying to run the same stuff on consoles + pc's. Hopefully new consoles come out with at least a geoforce 460... that's being very conservative but WAY more powerful than lets say a current xbox.

I'll believe it when I see it. I just hope they don't overuse those awful "lens flare" effects for every light in the game like they did in Crysis 2, that got old after the first 30 minutes in the game. On the other hand they sure improved the animations tremendously so kudos to them for that.

I'm excited. Sure it's on the same engine, but take a look at this video. http://youtu.be/JWvgETOo5ek?hd=1 Especially the sheer amount of tessellation and environmental physics.

It took 2 8800GTXs to run Crysis 1 on Very High at 1080p, I assume the current equivalent would be 2 GTX 680s. That's pretty PC-melting to me.

Also, I can't leave without directing everyone's attention to MaldoHD. The final version of the mod is almost here, and it's the closest thing to a fix for the sloppy Crysis 2 DX11 patch. http://maldotex.blogspot.com/

Normally I'd ask what good a game is if it's unplayable, but in the case of Crytek's games the same question could be asked even if it was playable. This will just be another mediocre, linear shooter like all the previous ones.

So what crysis3 is going to run furmark in the background or something? I dont get how the same engine that they used in crysis2, that even with the dx11 patch I ran on my 670 maxed out @ 19x12 with vsync on and almost never dropped below 60fps, is going to melt my pc when they are releasing it on 360 and ps3 as well. That "a new dawn" demo however mediocre it might look did bring my 670 to its knees quite easily but Im pretty sure nvidia engineered that to happen like that to try to sell more cards... the dbags.
