[citation][nom]burmese_dude[/nom]I'll put my PC inside the meat freezer room and play Crysis 3. I wonder what the recommended spec will be. I hope mine meets that. i7 2600k, gtx 570 SC, 8gig 1600mhz ram, WD 1tb black on 27" LG 1920 x 1080.[/citation]

Sorry your monitor does not meet the requirements.

But actually no one needs to know your monitor. Believable if you left your monitor out and just listed components.

I guess it'll melt my PC by being a poorly optimized console port that requires additional hardware to run the same visuals as an xbox 360 with slightly higher resolution and a few DX11 fx? I can also melt my mustang by making it tow a tractor trailer rig, but I still end up only going 25 mph.

Come on guys. Be a little optimistic! The PC melting will probably be all the tessellation, particles, and reflections - which looks REALLY good:

Loved Crysis 1 - because I went back and played it two years after it was released when I had a much better rig, the game did not look dated one bit. Once it ran this well, it was a great shooter and fun to play through multiple times.

Never bothered finishing Crysis 2, it was not at all in the style that it should have been - we owe 100% of that to consolification and compromises made for the console systems, including the sheer amount of development effort taken away from creativity and invested in cross-platform compatibility and integration. The lack of destructable environments, physics based gameplay, sandbox feel and openness, nature elements (like vast islands) .. all of this amounted to a letdown.

Crysis 3 will be more of the same. It cannot be wide open or improved in terms of GAMEPLAY (which is what should come first), because the consoles are simply too far behind and focus on blockbusters over gameplay anyways.

Sorry. Spend your money at your own peril.

I can see it now:
Toms Hardware Headlines the day after Crysis 3 comes out:

"Even Dual Xeon 4-way SLI GTX 690 PCs can't even install Crysis 3!!!"

Lol...

They should make this a prequal in medieval times and have the story about the first encounter with the aliens that was never recorded. Then we can use bows and shit and have some cool medieval multiplayer too.

Crysis 2 looked no better than Crysis (with the DirectX 11 patch), and it was a lot less fun to play. I don't have high hopes for this one.
