Discussion WD Blue 8 Tb internal hard drive

I have a WD Blue 8 tb internal Drive and wanted to connect it to my laptop as an external hard drive so, I bought a ugreen SATA to 3.0 adapter cable and the disk appears at my disk management as disk 2 but i can't initialize it every time it gives me an incorrect function.
My specs:
Lenovo ideapad 510
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.70 GHz
8.00 GB RAM
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
and i installed a sandisk 256 GB internal ssd in place of my dvd player
