what Chipset?

I was originally going to get a p45 with an ati 4850 card, then decided after a price drop to get the 9800gtx, then I started thinking what chipset would work best for me, I need it mostly for games, so all of the bells and wistles are not needed and I dont want more than 2 graphic card slots to save money, I dont want to spend more than 150$.

You'll need an NVIDIA chipset if you ever want to use SLI. The 750i would be good.

this is the same question just months later, my video card has always acted up, its probably my video card (9800gtx) but I have wondered if it could be my crossfire motherboard. anyways I wanted a 3 way sli motherboard so nvidia 780 chipset seems the best for that 2 cards in sli and a dedicated 9800gtx for physx.

My question is what is the fastest but at a lower price i780 motherboard? I dont need onboard sound or anything like that but a faster motherboard without over-clocking. I prefer ddr2 because that means I dont need to buy new ram. I have always bought asus so I dont know the good brands otherwise.
