Question What is more important to upgrade in my Build

Here is the list of my build.

CPU - Ryzen 5 3600X
GPU- RTX 3060 Ti
MOBO - MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX
RAM- 32Gb 4x8 3200MHz
Storages I am fine there I know that.

I am torn between upgrading my CPU over my GPU I don't want to have to replace my mobo and i know there is a bios update that I can at least cap out my CPU for AM4 getting the Ryzen 7 5800x. However i still feel like my CPU is rather good and that it is my GPU at this point that needs to be updated. I was thinking of going to the 4070 Super as the slight increase of 10% and $200 its justifiable for me. I am living in Canada too for clarification. Thank you for the help in advanced.

4070 Super is quite a bit faster than a 3060Ti. About 50% more cores and about 500Mhz as well.

What it really comes down to is what you are playing. If you are leaning towards more graphically demanding titles, go for the GPU. If you are leaning towards CPU heavy titles, or want maximum possible frame rates, CPU is the choice.

Power supply and target resolution?

Hi thank you for response. I am using an Ultra Wide monitor it is set to 2560x1080 so still 1080 gaming. That is what I was thinking to that the CPU at this point would be my better option. I am curious about what the 4070 Super would give me but If is a large purchase compared to the CPU upgrade

Depends on what you are playing, of course. Anywhere from 25-50% increase in average FPS according to the Tom's review. (3060Ti and 4060Ti have basically the same performance.)

When using things like ray tracing or DLSS though, you would see greater improvements.

CPU may improve frame times and minimum FPS, but if your GPU is the limiting factor in many games, you may see little improvement. (See the MS Flight Simulator chart, pretty much everything above a certain point scored the same)
