What to upgrade

so my pc specs are nvidia gt 520 and e5700 processor and 4 gb ram
i have a question on to get a gtx 560 or to get i5 2500 k
upgrade only for gaming purposes only

How much is your upgrade budget?

GT 520 graphics card is the weakest link.
The C2D E5700 3.0Ghz CPU is just about 'OK'.

list all hardware ( don't forget motherboard ) and ps/software you use and monitor-res.

the e5700 and 2500 won't work on the same board

Upgrade your GPU. Your CPU will bottleneck any $150+ GPU, so look below that amount - an HD 6850 or 7770 will do well. Or the 192-bit GTX 560 SE would be fine.

I have no problem going for the GTX 560ti.
Especially if you have a PSU that can support it?

When you're ready to upgrade the rest of your system you'll already have the GPU for it.

+1 Yes, go for the 560ti if you're planning a full upgrade soon after.

Your CPU will not allow you to get the max out of that GPU, and it will end up performing like a $150 card. (I speak from experience...)

Also, at your lower resolution, you'll either want to upgrade to 1080p or get a top-end i5. The lower your res, the more your gaming experience depends on your CPU.
