Question What would explain repeated drop in Read and Write speeds on different SSDs in the same setup.

This is a bit of a convoluted problem, but essentially I experienced an overnight drop in the performance of my Computer, causing increased lagging and a general inability to use it properly. One notable symptom was a huge decline in Read and Write speed following a CrystalDiskMark test. Tests on my RAM seemed to suggest that there were no issues there.

After various troubleshooting, I decided to format the SSD and perform a clean install of Windows 11. This rectified the problem for about a week then the same issues returned again overnight. I've since repeated the same clean install on my HDD as well and the same issue returned not long afterwards.

I've fully installed drivers every time and also tried not installing my AntiVirus software as well. The bizarre thing is that there is no set period before the issue comes back, it could be an hour or it could be two weeks. The only thing that fixes it temporarily is performing a clean reinstallation of Windows 11 (or 10) from a USB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's been about three months now.

what the brand and model of the ssd?
check the ssd health?
I have no way of checking that, it was the one provided by PC Specialist - who built the Computer.
The health test of the HDD comes back as "Good" from CrystalDiskInfo
(SSD isn't currently installed as I sent it off to be replaced)
