Hey there! I've been fairly content with my current (2nd) build. But I still don't consider my self an "expert" by any means. I'm looking for ways to maximize my performance, mainly for gaming.
My parts:
Motherboard: Asrock Z370 Taichi, latest bios
CPU: Intel i7-9700K - overclocked to 5Ghz
GPU: EVGA 2070 RTX Super Black Gaming
Monitor: Dell's Alienware AW3418DW (Ultrawide 34", 3440x1440 w/G-Sync)
SSD's: Samsung 970 EVO Plus for Windows 10 and games (500Gb)
Samsung 950 EVO Pro for everything else (512Gb)
Memory: 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200Mhz (4 sticks)
I've considered swapping out for an AMD motherboard and CPU, but from what I've read, Intel's a better bet for gaming purposes. I'm aware AMD's typically better for workstations.
If anyone has any pointers on what components are worth upgrading for a better optimized gaming rig, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to run the latest games on ultra (or close to it) at max resolution. The monitor overclocks to 120Hz, but I'm fine with locking games at 60 fps.
Also, I have a Corsair MP600 (1TB) on the way since there was a great deal on it the other day. Would it make sense to clone my system onto that (from my current 970 Evo Plus) for any performance gains? I know both are PCIe 3.0 on my Intel system, so I can't take advantage of its PCIe 4.0 capability :/
Thanks!
