i don't usually enjoy those types of simple button masher action games. but when my more console oriented friends come by and want to play it they always seem very impressed by the graphics and enjoy the gamepad controls. think i've only ever gotten ~2hrs into it myself but I wouldn't say it was bad. just always have better games to get back into.

Just did something I never do and preordered Fallout 4. I think the last game I preordered was Skyrim. And maybe New Vegas before that. I would also preorder Half Life 3 if you're reading this Gabe! Ok, I'm better now.

Edit: Come to think of it I may have preordered Dragon Age II as well. That one didn't turn out as well as the others.

Yeah, I pre-ordered FO4 as well to take advantage of a 20% discount. It is the 1st game I have ever pre-ordered. Also, it is my 1st game that I will be downloading from Steam.

FO3 was the 1st game I ever bought on launch date and it was the 1st game I bought without reading any reviews for it. Since I pre-ordered FO4 that would make it the 2nd game I have bought without reading a review.

Wow, I think Fallout 4 was number 176 in my Steam library. Got another 30 or so with Origin and about 15 through UPlay. I can't remember the last game I bought on disk. It might have been Fallout 3 but it used Games for Windows Live when it was released and wasn't available on Steam until later. I bought the GOTY version on Steam a few months ago for about $5 just to make it easy to play like everything else as Games for Windows Live shut down. I've been a Steam user for a little over 9 years.

Fallout 4 would be the only game on my radar I'd consider preordering, but I don't have any reason to not just wait. It'll likely be a day one purchase. Still hyped though!

Beat Halo 5 last night; it's a good game if you're a fan of the series.

Random aside: I'm so tired of waiting for Arkham Knight; I've held off all this time and it looks like another performance patch is coming next week (maybe?, the wording in the official WB posts is a little confusing) despite the "re-release" being Wednesday. Oh well, back to other games until it's fixed.

Yeah, I don't really play games anymore. FO4 is the 1st game I have bought this year.

I am currently replaying FO3. I probably would have bought it the GOTY version from Steam if I knew about the sale. No big deal though since I already have the DVD and all the DLCs. I took a break from Star Trek Online to play FO3.

Damn you Bethesda! It's real.

Yeah that would likely bring it to $30 a beer. Not paying that either. It would be cool just to have a bottle or two for the shelf though.

I wonder if they are going to include the strontium isotope to make your pee glow in the Quantum?

doubt any of our local bars here will bother with Fallout beer. will have to keep an eye out this year.
really wondering what the Nuka-Cola tastes like. most of the blue soft drinks and gator-aid/ripoffs taste kinda funky.

I have played many of the popular ones, but if someone really wants to explore something new, I remember something I had played like 2 years ago. The name is transcendence. Kinda like fallout but with quite a twist. It is 2D, and has an extremely limited modding community but something about it still makes me play it even after the 70+ hours I put into it. Oh, that and pillars of eternity (just started playing it, seems good).

Just heard Alekhine's Gun got pushed back to Feb. Too bad, I'm looking forward to trying that one.

For those whom don't know, Alekhine's Gun, named after a famous chess move, is a cold war era espionage game where the CIA recruits a former KGB agent, and involves investigating conspiracies within the CIA, leading up to the events of JFK's assassination and beyond.

It's stealth gameplay with a lot of disguises, intel gathering, and assassinations, very much like Hitman. That said, they claim while being fans of Hitman and offering similarities, that they've improved on some things, and are focusing on very open ended gameplay where the use of items you find and decisions in general aren't always clear. They promise large levels where you're rewarded for exploration.

I have to say, I'm interested in this mostly for the story and player choices.

Me I've been playing killing floor 2 and metal gear the phantom pain as I can now play them with my new MSI GTX 970.

Also looking forward to playing witcher 3 when its more optimized and fallout 4 (i'll get it when its been patched a bit)

I started playing the witcher enhanced edition and didn,t really get the game-play , lucid but uneventful , a bit like
Far cry 3 , i just don,t get it.
Witcher 2 however is a bit slow on my present build but a lot more interesting in the game-play , larger character image , more fascination with graphic content and shaders.
wholesomely a more enjoyable game , i,m guessing that Wildhunt will have gripping game-play also.
Maybe i havent, given the pilot enough time.

Fallout 4 let me preload it last night. 25GB download. :bounce: Ready. To. Play.

How are you able to download it? Is it released in local time?

If you preordered the game Steam lets you download it early so you can play at release time. I've had it downloaded since Friday but it won't unlock until 12:01AM Eastern time tonight.
