It's been a while since I've posted.

I played Inside from the creators of Limbo, Playdead. It was what I expected from the devs. They gave a world with a really tense atmosphere, where you need to be careful about each move you make, unless you're prepared for them. Unlike Limbo, this game is, how do I put it, 2.5D. Your character can only move in a planar fashion even though the world looks 3D.
The graphics are neat, although they looked really blurry for me at my native resolution.
The puzzles were, although it felt more dynamic, was easy overall. I didn't have any puzzles that I got stuck at or something, like how I got a few times in Limbo. I was able to figure them out pretty easy.

My total playtime lasted maybe around 4 hours, which was almost the same for my first Limbo playthrough. In terms of gameplay and story telling, this game was really good. The ending itself is pretty wtf, haha. Overall, I enjoyed my short time with it.

I finished up all the Fallout 4 DLC to date. Now I've been playing The Talos Principle. Very different yet also somewhat similar to Portal. I'm really enjoying it and would recommend it to anyone who likes puzzle games.

I preordered Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and the season pass. Another week of waiting until I can play though. :fou:

I worked from home and started about 3 hours early today so I could have most of the afternoon free when No Man's Sky was about to go live. I ended up playing about 6 hours of it today. I haven't binged on one game for that many hours in one day since Civilization V.

I am getting some hitching every once in a while but the game has been a smooth 60 FPS (VSYNC on) for me the vast majority of the time. I'm certainly not experiencing anywhere close to the level of problems that are being reported in the forums and reviews on Steam.

To be fair, seeing any hitching in a game that lists a GTX 480 in the system requirements is silly when I have a GTX 1070 and in i5 4690k, even if I am playing at 1440p. It clearly hasn't been a big enough problem to stop me from playing 6 hours today though.

I do feel for the people with more modest hardware than mine who are still well above the system requirements and getting terrible performance, especially those who have been excited for this game for months or even years.

Especially with such mediocre graphics. I've heard some people rave about that game's graphics, but I just don't see it. It looks pretty dated to me.

Try "Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones", it's a lot more developed both graphically and phisically.

CS:GO mainly. I have Arma 3 and Battlefield Hardline. But time and time again I keep going back to Counter Strike. I never took the time to really learn Arma 3 yet. And using Origin to connect to servers for Battlefield are very annoying to me. Not a fan of the web based setup.

Half Life 2. Including original, ep1-2, lost coast.
Mirror's Edge. Want Catalyst so bad but 80$CAD is not what I am willing to spend
Life is Strange.
Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 (yes this game is decade old)
Dungeon Defenders 1 (the second one is so bad, a F2P online with microtransactions and stuff)
CS: GO too much rage/hacks/unbalance so deciding to quit.

rFactor 1_Basically only the HistorX mod ver. 1.96 which is the best imo
Live For Speed
Eurotruck Simulator 2 1.24(no mods)_Waiting for a better video card to use the mods
American Truck Simulator_same makers of Eurotruck Sim 2, great graphics and great physics, only western US made so far.
Call of Duty: World At War_great game considering its age(2008)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2_great all in all especially for middle range PC's

I enjoyed it as well. I picked up The Old Blood ( standalone expansion ) in the last Steam sale. I haven't played it yet but I need to.

Played and finished main story line and DLC for Fallout 4
Then reloaded Fallout: New Vegas and modded the hell out of the graphics etc. Was playing that daily until:
No Man's Sky. bought this on day 1 and played it all weekend. really enjoying it.

I aim to pick up Witcher 3 and Wolfenstein New Order this year but the way I'm playing No Man's Sky I think I'm going to be putting A LOT of hours into open exploration on it.

spent a few hours friday & saturday and had a pretty good time, but sunday evening got a little more into it and looked up ~8 hours later at 3:30am and couldn't believe the time had flown.
i am enjoying it a lot. it is a good mix of a lot of genres and even with the mostly sub-par graphics it is a good experience. i know a lot of people are having/claiming some serious issues with the game but i just don't see it. stutters for 10-15 seconds at startup as the map loads but then stays above 55fps throughout, G-Sync & V-Sync off in game with Crimson handling the V-Sync. have had 3 freeze/crashes through the 15+ hours so far and those were totally random out of nowhere.
obviously there are some problems, all of these masses of people claiming it's unplayable can't all just be haters talking trash. hopefully it'll get some performance improvement updates and some additions to the game very soon, like a planetary map option!

I know what you mean. I've already played 12.6 hours since the game came out and I usually don't put that much time into gaming over a single weekend anymore. When I do it's never on one game. I don't think I'll continue these marathon sessions much longer but I can see it being my new go to game for winding down for about 45 minutes before bed after playing Overwatch or other more action focused games. Stardew Valley has been that game for me for a while and I'm still really enjoying it but No Man's Sky is pulling me in hard.

In my 12 hours I haven't had any crashes. I did have to force the game closed once after Alt-Tabing to look something up on the internet. The game didn't crash. I could still hear the audio but no matter what I did I couldn't get it to come back up on the screen.

My performance has been fine. Like you, I turned off the in-game vsync, turned the FPS cap to max, and forced vsync in Nvidia Control Panel. This fixed the random hitching I was seeing from time to time. Like I said in a different thread, the hitching I was seeing was very sporadic anyways. It was smooth for me most of the time even on the default settings.

1. Turn off vsync and set the FPS limit to max on the in game settings menu.

2. Close the game and open up Nvidia Control Panel.

3. Click manage 3D settings.

4. Click the tab that says "program settings" instead of the default "global settings."

5. Find No Man's Sky (NMS.exe) in the drop down list

6. Scroll down to vertical sync and select "force on." You can also choose adaptive vsync instead for a smoother experience if the game is sometimes dropping just below 60 FPS on your hardware.

Thanks King. appreciate it bud.

Best game i ever played ? Well i have to say Return to castle Wolfenstein beause it have one of my favorite soundtracks and gameplay for that times... great !

I'm playing Deus Ex: The Human Revolution - Director's Cut again in anticipation of Mankind Divided unlocking in a few days.

I've been playing No Man's Sky too. Unfortunately, I'm one of the people having performance drops. I'm getting constant stutter, whenever I decide to turn or move. It seems the game is running better on AMD cards than on Nvidia, hence why you guys aren't having problems.

The new game ready drivers nvidia released yesterday helped improve frame rates. It feels more consistent now, but the stutters are still there, which can probably be fixed through a patch. The graphics are bland to say at best. Besides that, the game is only rendering at a lower resolution, possibly 720p, and it's simply stretched when I put on the native resolution (granted mine isn't much better than 720p, but it feels blurry regardless).

Regarding the game, I wasn't able to get into it for the first half an hour because of the constant performance drops. After that, I did some tweaking around in the game files and started getting okay-ish performance. It's definitely fun. It's a game where I would say there is no real objective. It's a go to game for when you're bored and just want to explore stuff. You're not going to have a good time if you're playing it solely to finish off some objective.

yeah, turning it up to 3200x1800(the highest VSR will allow) makes a good bit of difference visually. and i notice almost no performance impact with this game. it could definitely use some updated shaders and some more detailed textures for sure.

there is a bit of objective regarding the Atlas and a limited path it drives you towards, but nothing like what we've become used to in most mainstream games. i really like the lack of hand-holding, it reminds me of an older generation of games. when you were lucky if someone you knew had a walkthrough book that they paid an exorbitant amount of $ for.

i've just gotten to my first space station and 2nd planet last night after doing a good bit of upgrading while still on my initial planet. just got a 30 slot ship and 24 slot multi-tool with my exo-suit at max 48 slots.
if you can find a merchant at one of the big on-world trade posts looking for override chips it's an easy way to make some semi-quick cash. best deal i found was only +7% for them though.

I don't think that's the case, at least not with more recent Nvidia cards. I'm the one a few posts up who said that the game was running fine for me 95% of the time on day one with max settings. It is running fine all the time now that I turned off the in game vsync, set the frame cap to max, and forced vsync in the Nvidia Control Panel instead.

I am not running the experimental branch and I am still on the driver from last month. I'm playing at 1440p on a GTX 1070, i5-4690k @ 4GHz, and 16GB of RAM with the game installed on a SSD.
