Playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. 20 hours in and still haven't accepted the first mission 😀
Also Jensen's PC - AMD's Project Quantum

Just started playing Rise of the Tomb Raider. Great looking game, but I'm still seeing tons of button prompts even after setting Show button hints to Off.

Is there any way in game or with mods to turn off these constant button prompts? It ruins the look of an otherwise decent looking and immersive game.

I was mostly worried about performance, but it runs fine, it's just that they cluttered the screen with this crap, and it seems you can't turn it off.

I haven't played Rise of the Tomb Raider in months but I don't remember that being a problem. Maybe just the first level?

I'm loving Mankind Divided. I'm at 31 hours and still playing. Even though I had to reduce image quality settings a bit the game is amazing looking. Chimera201 if you haven't started the missions you haven't seen Prague at night. It's even better looking than in the day.

The game world is quite large. Not Witcher 3 or Fallout 4 large but the level of detail packed into Mankind Divided can be overwhelming. I'm already looking forward to starting a new game +.

Wow, The Witcher 3 is getting a 3.9GB update today? Nuka World launches today and Mankind Divided is also getting a patch.

GOTY update they are calling it in some places. guess this will get it up to the same level as the new complete package they will be distributing under the Game Of The Year title.

wonder how Wild Hunt's later Enhanced Edition will be different?

I've been playing Rise of the Tomb Raider too. The level of detail in this game is stunning. I've already beat the game too. The performance was sort of all over the place. Closed quarters gave me a good 45-55 FPS and the open parts gave me around 25-35 FPS. I was playing mostly at 'High' settings with PureHair on. Lara's hair looks much better with it turned on than without it. I was playing at 1366x768.

Regarding the gameplay, it was what I'd expect from a third person game. There are puzzle elemets which are all fairly easy and then there is moderate platforming. The bow and the pistol is what I used mostly in the game. I went around headshotting most of the bad guys. Combat was really fun and easy with me just dying only one or two times during the whole game. Also there was crafting involved that I actually used. I never use crafting in most games but in this you will feel the need to. It simply involves taking an object from your surroundings and using a button to craft that item instantaneously. You can gather a lot of resources from the environment and use them to upgrade your equipment, weapons and craft more ammo.

As for the story, it's definitely cliche but it's executed well enough with a few twists here and there.
Overall, I really liked this game. I don't finish games this quick (took me around 15 hours or so) but it definitely had me hooked.

I liked Rise of the Tomb Raider as well. Graphics and gameplay were both excellent.

Finished the main Mankind Divided story at 39 hours. Playing the Jensen's Story DLC that came with my preorder now and I'll start a New Game+ when I'm done with that. I really loved this game. The more I played it the more I liked it. Graphics are just amazing. Even at the somewhat lowered detail settings it's easily one of the best looking games I've ever played. The city at night looks even better than the day.

Actually I'm going to play around in Nuka World a bit then I'll start a new game+ of DE:MD.

I bought the GotY edition of Witcher 3 the other day. Played it for about 2 hours. I'm not really getting into it. Everyone keeps going on about how it's one of the best games ever made etc....I guess I'll plug on a little longer to see how it develops.

of course that always depends on the type of games you enjoy.
i definitely think it's one of the best. love all the Witcher game's combat styles and Wild Hunt's quest/side-quest options, but some complain that that's the worst thing about the game(s). having played and enjoyed the first two games also helps a bit because i was already very into the story and the characters.

others will claim some of the generic military shooters like Battlefield & Call of Duty are also some of the best, and i've only enjoyed a very few of them.
all comes down to preference like with any media.

I didn't play the first two Witcher games and The Witcher 3 really feels like such a grind for about the first 30 hours. I'm glad I stuck it out because somewhere around the same time it stopped feeling like a grind the story really kicked in and it became one of my favorite games ever. I should say I did my typical open world game thing and ignored the story while wandering around at first though.

I'm assuming once I figure it all out and can enjoy the open world aspect of it i'll appreciate it alot more.

I love Skyrim/Fallout 3/NV/4 for that aspect. I just love to wander with no agenda/purpose.

With Witcher 3, can i start doing that immediatly or do I have to follow the story at first to establish it?

You can wander to a limited degree as certain regions only unlock via the story. You can explore the whole White Orchid area without advancing the story. Which turns out to be tiny compared to later regions.

the only complaint i had with the game is in regards to this.

if you spend too much time wandering and leveling up, you get to a point where you surpass certain quest's designated levels and then they are worth much less exp points when completed. seems kind of like a measure to keep you on track. but for those of us that like to wander and explore it will cause you to lose a good bit quest exp.

considering you may have earned that same amount of exp while fighting and exploring anyway it may not have been as much of a problem as it seemed though.

The game gets a lot better. It would help if you knew the lore a bit more though. I've played the Witcher 2 before so I know most of the characters in the game. I never played the first one though. You could easily check out some videos to learn more about the characters and story, if that's your thing.

You should definitely keep playing. I was in White Orchard for probably 10 hours before moving on to the next region, and that's much bigger compared to the first. You're going to have to wait till then to properly wander around. You'll encounter many side quests too, so I recommend doing them. The '?' marks in the maps will become overwhelming later on, so feel free to skip some.

To me, the game was a little difficult at first. But after levelling up my character, getting better gear, combat became a lot more easy and enjoyable.

Haha, yeah. They are ridiculously cheap during sales.

After Rise of the tomb raider, I started playing Black Mesa along with Obduction.

In Black Mesa, I've only reached the surface. It's fun so far. It's just as I remember a Half Life game. Been a while since I've played one.

As for Obduction, it looks good. There's not much hand holding involved and you need to pay attention to some details around an otherwise, static world. I've only encountered a few puzzles so far (played a couple of hours only) but I'm not sure if I should call them puzzles. They just seemed like undisclosed objectives that needed to be completed. The game, if you've checked out a trailer, has got characters in them put forth as a hologram on some crystals you encounter. They tell you what you have to do as well, so it's not completely cryptic.

I'm now 32 hours into witcher 3. I have never played games like this, I stick to fps and open world fps usually on pc.

BUT. Have to say it may well be the greatest game I have played. The story and sheer depth is outstanding, combat really fun, I even got heavily into all the crafting and alcehmy which usually bores me. Add to that probably the best looking game of its genre....

If you balance the exploring and main quests and make sure you keep all your swords ans armour in line with your current level, its really fun.

my first playthrough i totally ignored Gwent, usually don't like mini-games like these and really usually hate these type of card games in general.
but my recent NG+ i figured i'd go for it and get those quests done. turned out really enjoying it and looking forward to defeating everyone in the game.

figured i'd throw that out there if you haven't been bothering with it..

Ah yes, Gwent. I'll be honest...it bored me to the max lol. I am just not into that kind of stuff. I may try it again as I get further into the game! With PC gaming, I like to be on the move as it were as much as possible. The crafting/alchemy is about as far as Ill go, and only then because they make it interesting!

Good shout though, may try it again :)

I'm playing through Witcher 3 for the first time(got it on a GMG sale with all DLC).

I just "finished" the first portion, White Orchard, and have moved into the second area. The game has a pretty steep learning curve and i wasn't sure if i was going to like it at first. But once I read up on it a bit, learned how to use the game, I'm enjoying it.

Would I agree that it's one of the best games I've ever played? I don't think, well for enjoyment I wouldn't say that. I mean it's good don't get me wrong and I realize what it accomplishes but for some reason I enjoyed Skyrim so much more. I will definitely carry on playing this. It has the potential to required a HUGE number of hours to fully play through.

I'm amazed at how many ppl here seem to like this game so much, it sounds to me like a modernized version of Diablo, which I never liked back in its day. I don't like wandering about without a purpose, I simply don't get any enjoyment out of it, even if there are some small missions inside it.

I much prefer action oriented games such as Call of Duty, racing simulators, Battlefiled, Medal of Honor, NBA 2K series etc...

I wish I liked games like this, but I simply can't seem to enjoy them.

My only issue is it csb feel overwhelming. I'm doing the novigrad stuff now with 3 main and 6 secondary quests and 11 treasure hunts to do.

What I do like is that as long as you loot and take a bit of time its quite easy to craft decent items at each level.

Best game? Probs not. Epic though
