I love all three Dead Space games. The first one doesn't play very well with a mouse and keyboard ( at least I didn't like the controls ) but it's still worth playing. One of the few game series that I find scary.
Nice to see someone not bashing the 3rd one like so many did. You owe it to yourself to try The Evil Within if you like great horror games though.
@Gogeto,
If you played and liked Dead Space 1&2, no reason not to play the 3rd. If you haven't played any of them, I recommend playing them in order for the full effect of the story. This is because the characters and knowledge of the Necromorphs unfolds little by little.
The 3rd was bashed for it's story being soap opera like, the gameplay being more action oriented, and the weapon building being more complex. In reality the silly love triangle dialog was a very small part of the story. It also offered many ways to play, including Classic Mode in which weapon crafting is disabled and you can only build weapons from the previous games via blueprints.
That said, Classic Mode has to be unlocked by first beating the game. That is best though because this game does throw more Necros at you, and often times at a faster pace, which drew alot of criticism from die hard survival horror fans. It still does have good pacing in between action though. You have to know the game well to beat it on Classic. DS 3 also adds dungeons, which are optional missions where you will work your way toward rooms with big cache boxes. Along the way you will encounter the best circuit chips in the game, which upgrade your weapons, but also the toughest enemy encounters.
If you want to try DS 3 and have a hard time figuring out weapon crafting, just let me know and I'll give you some pointers. Weapons in DS3 always have an upper feature and lower feature. The lower feature is usually an alt fire weapon, but can also be the rotator, as with the Plasma gun's ability to rotate it's beams to cut vertically or horizontally for optimal limb severing depending on enemy position. Some of the parts I'm about to describe take a while to get to, and can be hard to find. That's OK because you don't encounter really tough enemies until later in the game, and if you dispatch enemies here and there as you go, you'll have ample time to explore.
I got in the habit of using the telemetry spike and diffraction torus for upper tool and tip, with military engine and conic dispersal for the lower weapon. That creates a "Chaingun" upper (sounds more like assault rifle), and shotgun lower. The best frame is the Heavy S.C.A.F, which has the most circuit slots for upgrades. Lastly, I added the acid bath attachment. That way you can carry lots of ammo and it leaves acid baths that will destroy smaller/faster enemies quickly. The shotgun is also a very powerful one shot kill for any enemies that get close.There are other powerful one shot weapons, but they are not fast enough for dungeon swarms, and run out of ammo.
Here is my custom weapon I described in action. This is the "Weapon Crafting Arena". It's a nice feature the game has for testing any weapons you craft. You can also revert to a prior checkpoint if you don't wish to keep them, so you can literally try endless combinations without actually spending any of your resources.

And yes Gogeto, definitely play Metro, but I recommend Metro 2033 Redux and Last Light Redux. They are graphically better and more optimized games than the original 2033, and add new gameplay content.
Here's the trailer of Metro Exodus that was recently released (2018 game release). Going to be amazing too.
