I never keep a card more than about 2 years though. 980 Ti = mid-high 50s with completely maxed settings in most AAA games. A 1080 ( especially the new ones with the boosted VRAM ) adds about ~25 FPS to that. A 1080 Ti is roughly double the 980 Ti. With a 60Hz monitor the 1080 Ti is overkill. I still may get one though. I'll give it another month to see if AMD announces anything relevant to the high end that might affect prices.
Literally Mankind Divided is the only game I've had to reduce settings in to be playable with the 980 Ti so far.

True. you could wait for Volta and move to 1440p, 144Hz though 😛
