Discussion What's your favourite video game you've been playing?

Having a test of reflex actions in playing Dying Light.

Are you M&K or controller? On my desktop I play M&K but Legion Go obviously controller. Controller layout sucks though and can't be remapped but did work some magic to fix that. Like the idiotic decision to make jump one of the bumpers instead of 'A' (or X if you're a PS person).

If you want to play Outlaws I suggest just waiting six months maybe for them to get the bugs worked out. It might be good eventually. But the AI needs a looooottt of work. Entire game needs to feel more real somehow.

One word. Ubisoft.
If they do fix anything, it will be just enough to make it serviceable. They like their games that require server-side connections that they can shut down and are also too focused on this grand Ubisoft Openworld-Verse they've been hyping on.

TLDR; Don't hold your breath.

I actually went for another playthrough of Starwars Outlaws, they just updated the game, and every single issue that was present in my previous play had been resolved, unbelievable, but true and it's a beautiful game that plays really well in my opinion.

Then I tried out the Crew 2 witch I got on a steam sale, I knew it is too good to be true, that a game could sell for less 98% cost price, but I wanted to download something and that's about all I got out of it something to download, and the rest was just unplayable mess, no proper preconfigured keyboard controls, and my absolute worst thing to see in any pc game, a locked frame rate, I quit after 20mins and did a refund, I also never got a msg that when launching this game it will be tied to my Ubisoft connect account permanently, be interesting to see how steam is going to resolve this issue that still persists with Ubisoft games bought on steam.

Looking for my next favorite game now...

COD MWIII hardcore multiplayer and thats it. At my age, I have time for one game to master, and that has been FPS games for a few years now, one at a time, and usually its COD or BF. Love showing the young guys on there that us older guys can still hang.

M&K all the way. It's a fun game with plenty of action around every corner on the maps. The only thing that threw me out first time playing couple yrs back was the F key thing to open stuff. Not until DL2 did they put icon next to it indicating to press up & down on that key until the icon fills up as much as possible then your character can open the power board or whatever... now I can get my $ worth & finish the game!
There were complaints on steam forums about this F key thing with DL.

Heard DL2 wasn't worth it if you've played DL Definitive, less refined, didn't feel good overall, not as fun. Your thoughts since you mentioned it?

I don't have any opinion on DL2 as I only got about 10 mins into it before dying too much... however DL is another thing altogether, game is extremely immersive on my system with 21:9 monitor and ultra settings with dedicated sound card via headphones. There are parts of this that remind me of HL2 & the F.E.A.R series back in their day.

Is Mass Effect 2 worth playing? Ive wanted to get into the series forever, I love pretty much anything space-themed. I've put it off forever but the time has come to finally try the franchise out. But my question is should I just start with 3? ME2 is almost 15 years old but people have also told me its integral to at least play that one before 3. Any opinions?

if it's still available, i would definitely get the Legendary Edition that includes 1, 2 & 3.
all of the games are still viable even this much time later and the story spreading across the three games is pretty awesome.
and then you still have Andromeda to play afterwards...

there are tons of mods out there for the first 3 games;
some that provide some updated textures & models,
some that offer extra content,
some with community generated fixes, etc.

Went back for a few days in Red Dead Redemption 2

have seen a few articles and posts about the OG coming to PC.
RDR PC version leak; IGN article
can't wait to see what sort of improvements(visuals, controls, etc) it has.
never got to play these games due to being PS exclusives and really enjoyed RDR2 when it finally was remade for PC.

also always hoped for a Demon Souls remake for PC. had heard a few times it was coming but always turned out to be bs.


just got Need For Speed Heat. haven't loaded it up yet though due to being pretty firmly into my current The Outer Worlds playthrough.
last one i played was NFS Rivals, which i pretty much enjoyed.
hadn't liked the looks of most of the later editions of the franchise.

I haven't been gaming as much lately, but when I do, I usually dive back into Counter-Strike 2, Gwent, Days gone or The Witcher 3 (infinite time ).

What game have you been playing recently? How did you find the experience of playing said game?

Any games you looking forward to? Why are you looking at those games?

Lately I've been playing Transistor which is pretty amazing - I would give it GOTY for the refreshing gameplay experience. I played some Always Sometimes Monsters which was pretty terrible to be perfectly honest - it felt like a horrible cheap shot RPG that punishes every choice you make unrealistically. I've just started to play Divinity and like every other RPG I haven't got my head around to how it works yet.

Right now I have my eyes set on Dragon Age: Inquisition - it's made by EA, so I'll be buying it after release . Star Citizen looks pretty cool, but I'm not particularly interested in space sims - just the potential to advance PC graphics sounds amazing. I will very likely buy Sims 4 -> just for character creation (I'm a girl, after all). I haven't played Assassin's Creed, but the latest installment looks pretty neat with the co-op aspect.

have just currently been finally really getting into Baldur's Gate 3.

have had it since early release "beta" options were available, started at least 3 new characters, but before now never got more than 4-5 hours into it before something else drew my attention.

now with my new character i've been playing a little over a week and have ~30hrs in.
seems much more than my usual gaming time.
just nuts how many varying ways there are to get through situations in this game.

I'm still playing SimCity, waiting for City Skylines to grow up and become a real sim, not to mention, more affordable. I'm also still playing Fort-nite despite all the bad behavior going on..

Dead by Daylight. An absolute sleeper hit. You play either a supernatural Killer trying to stop a team of 4 Survivors from completing objectives and escaping - or one of the Survivors trying to avoid the Killer, complete the objectives, and escape. The neat thing is that there's NO in-game chat, so it's 4 random people who don't know each other, figuring out how to work together and help each other out. (There is a post-game text chat, where people can cry and whine about it... LOL).

The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is smooth, there's a TON of variety and replay value, and they have a lineup of licensed Killers from popular franchises and arch-concepts - Chucky, Michael Myers, Dracula, Vecna, Xenomorph, Huntress, Trapper, Doctor - each with their unique gameplay, tactics, and strategy. Multiply that by the dozens of "Perks" and "Add-On" items that twist the gameplay in interesting ways, and you have literally tens of thousands of variations on the gameplay. From stealthy and surprising, to brutally overwhelming.

I honestly used to be addicted to team-RTSs like Age of Empires and World of Tanks, but now this game has 100% of my attention. It's THAT good.
