As for what we were discussing about Dying Light 2 earlier, despite the ton of complaints about the graphics, bland characters, dialog, quests, and bugs, it's rated Very Positive on Steam, with tons of reviews. I've also seen a few people on forums I chat on say it's a great game. So it appears despite all it's flaws, the gameplay more than makes up for it.
Yes, the game seems to be okay, but honestly I don't trust any reviews posted on the web, especially on any gaming blog/website, but STEAM reviews are trustable to some extent. But still who knows some of the 5 star reviews are biased/fake, and are paid reviews as well ?
But I still believe and read some of the user reviews of legit owners of any game on Steam, unlike any Metacritic score which can't be taken seriously imo. Btw, we also need to take into account the personal taste, gaming experience, and expectations of some of the gamers. E.g., the game which I like a lot might have a 1 star rating from others, and vice versa.
But for the most part user reviews can be trustworthy.
BTW, on side note, I recently bought FAR CRY 6 on Epic Games Store/EGS. It's a good game, but too demanding and unoptimized as hell. I get FPS drops in single digits on some of the game levels/areas. It is random though, but it doesn't break my immersion though. I love Far Cry series, kind of addicted to them, lol. But there is a VRAM bug in this game which keeps on giving false warning of your GPU's VRAM.
UBI has still not patched this annoying bug till now, since I have the latest version of this game on EGS. Actually, FC6 has the same gameplay mechanics but slightly refined/polished as well. The Inventory system is cool as well. YARA's open world map is one of the biggest in this entire far cry franchise.
Too bad this game is only available on Epic Games Store, and obviously UBI store/UPLAY as well, but there is no STEAM version. It won't even come out on Steam as well, which kinda sucks big time. A lot of recent games have been exclusive to Epic Games Store. But UBI has totally abandoned STEAM.
I suspect that not only does the Epic deal give Ubisoft more revenue with a better revenue split, but Epic also doesn't take anything from microtransactions, while Steam would still take 30% from those as well. I think the microtransactions alone if I am right, would offset anything lost from not being on Steam, so it is likely the deal is working.
Moreover, Ubisoft's aversion to gaming's biggest PC platform began as a result of its big partnership with Epic, which started in early 2019 with The Division 2. Since then, other major games Ghost Recon Breakpoint and more recently Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion have been noticeably absent from the platform.
I prefer STEAM's interface and the launcher though. The Epic Games Launcher and the interface is not that user friendly, at least in my opinion.
