This is a long post. Just sharing my thoughts about this METAL band. If you wish, you can skip directly to the music videos shared below. ;) ☮☦🔆🕉

Band name: GRIP INC. Genre: THRASH/Groove METAL. This was a side project band started by 'Waldemar Sorychta' and 'Dave Lombardo' (ex-SLAYER, TESTAMENT, Suicidal Tendencies).

We and our friends over at METAL HAMMER mag have promoted their albums worldwide, via the SteamHammer Label. But back then Waldemar Sorychta was the songwriter and producer for this band.

Dedicated to Gus Chambers – band's lead vocalist (RIP 1993–2008).

I don’t know about you guys, but I really love this vocalist. There was some magical power and attitude in his singing style, and the themes of their albums clearly matched his vocal prowess. Gus Chambers sings from the bottom of the heart, and you can feel the emotion and aggression in GRIP INC’s albums, as if each song conveys a strong message, and imprints an image which any Thrash Metal fan cannot overlook.

Probably because of the participation of 'Dave Lombardo', (SLAYER fame) Grip Inc. always appeared to me as a more mature version of Slayer.

I am not speaking of the music, but of the aura, the image and the lyrics. Grip Inc. had no interest in delivering a demonic (or shall I say silly/childish) approach. Furthermore, the lyrics did not deal with comparable "evil" themes. The real life and its daily news were cruel enough in order to write about appropriately selected topics. To put it plainly, Grip Inc. could be understood as an adult oriented thrash squadron.

The outstanding production satisfied all requirements. This came as no surprise after their first three albums. Each and every previous output had also offered an admirable sonic brilliance. Producer 'Waldemar Sorychta' was an absolute specialist in his trade. Rawness and transparency, heaviness and sharpness - Sorychta found the right balance with instinctive sureness so that the versatility of the sound deserved the highest praise.

The debut of Grip Inc. was released during the infertile years of thrash metal. While Slayer indulged in punk before they turned to something indefinable, once great icons of thrash such as Destruction or Exodus were completely out of order. Even more bands vanished from the scene.

Instead of writing a successor for the excellent "Time Does Not Heal", Dark Angel were already comatose and this was exactly the status of the whole genre, too. It was therefore up to Grip Inc. to breathe new life into the actually amazing genre. Thankfully, the prominently staffed formation saw no reason to hesitate. "Power of Inner Strength" became a masterpiece.

Having substantially remained a side-project throughout its whole life, the subsequent streak of four albums in nine years is still adequate, and the masterminds behind the entity made sure to keep the quality level at similar, if not grander, heights, and at the same time experiment each time with something different.

By the time Incorporated hit the shelves in 2004, Grip Inc. had still remained loyal to their brand of groove metal, but remaining in the obscure territory where said label is not meant as an insult (which is a quite impressive feat per se
).

Nice SLAYER TEE. I have got at least 7-8 SLAYER t-shirts, and the remaining 30-40 tees are from other extreme Metal bands. BLACK and DEATH metal mostly.

But I also got a tee of the thrash metal band TESTAMENT ! Will post that pic later. Can't find it now though.

This one was actually rated one of the best METAL tees of all time. It's from the legendary Death Metal band OBITUARY. I actually grabbed this from Bangkok at that time when I was touring Asia.

From what I understand, the more recent reproductions of that Slayer T shirt have the writing in B/W, making mine slightly rarer

I used to have lots of T shirts but you know, that was 30 years ago, as indicated below:

It used to be black but it got worn a lot.

It lives in a box now to stay its color. Others faded to grey.

I have others but not photographed.
Used to have some cool Overkill and Testament T Shirts but that was in the past.
Used to have a yellow State of Euphoria T Shirt... I remember getting it for my Bday one year. Can I go back?

DUTCH underground BLACK Metal band ! From Netherlands. It's more of a RAW and MELODIC BM genre, but with originality, unlike other Black Metal bands

Within the Netherlands' underground extreme black metal scene, "Cirith Gorgor" were one of the most respected bands. To some extent they can be seen as the Dutch equivalent to "Marduk" (Sweden), though Cirith Gorgor sticks to a more old-school (meaning: 1990s) sound and style: every album takes you back to that time when bands like Marduk and, for example, ''Thy Primordial (Sweden)'' unleashed their instantly recognizable, "ready for war" brand of music upon the world.

Band's name: "Cirith Gorgor."
