Grab your shaker of salt for the following tidbit from the Inquirer. The B3 stepping should be out by May 8th. They will be concentrating on the lower frequencies, even adding a 65 watt Phenom 9000 at 1.8 gigaherzt that looks good for HTPC, or if you keep the PC on 24/7 doing anime torrents.
They'll have B3 dual cores, triple cores and quad core Phenoms at the regular 9500 and 9600 2.2 and 2.3 clock speeds. They won't get the 2.4 and 2.6 out until later in the year. 45nm quad core will arrive sometime in 2009, but the way they're going, it could be late 2009.
They're also coming out with higher clocked 65 watt Brisbanes too, but the Phenom core's beat the Brisbane cores by 17% to 25%, so I can't see getting a dual core Phenom. A triple core might bring an advantage, as a few games use 3 cores (or was that 2 1/2 cores? Maybe I should write for the Inquirer LOL).
Looks like AMD is finally catching up to their production goals (not catching up to Intel) and their stock is creeping back to normalcy as they approach profitability. What I can't wait for is Swift in 2009. A quad core CPU where 3 are Phenom cores and one is a 3000 series ATI. If it works in an RS780 motherboard alongside the IGP and a discrete card in the same range, we could see triple Crossfire on the cheap. Now, if they only get it to work with faster cards then the 3450 and 3470!
