I downloaded gta5 on my pc and it just automatically pauses and stated that it has write disk error. Could my hdd be the culprit? I tried running "CHKDSK" in cmd and this is what it showed

C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk

Volume label is CJ SSD.

I also noticed that booting up is much slower than the usual. It's like 10s before and now, it would take 15-20s. I have 2 drives; 1 240gb m.2 ssd and a 1tb hdd. I would appreciate if you would help me. Thanks!

How do you defrag the SSD .
What do you use is what I mean to defragment it

I recommend you get the drive test or programs from the manufactures of the drives and test each drive out

Actually i did installed seaTools(program for checking hdd seagate brand) and the hdd failed one of the diagnostic test ( Long generic test) however, i can still store apps and files in the hdd except on steam as I mentioned the problem before. When i tried installing the steam games into the ssd, it continued downloading.

Although I'm not 100% sure whether your HDD is the cause of your Steam installation problem, but you should still get a new hard drive. Make sure to backup your data ASAP if you still want to keep them.

If your hard drive failed any tests then it should be replaced and not used to store any games this is your problem

Alright, I'll try to return this in the store that I bought it in, any advices on how to prevent possible hdd failure? Actually the hdd before my current one is destroyed by ants( ants living in the hdd).

I don't think there is much you could do to prevent HDD failure. As for your ant problem, perhaps you shouldn't eat in your room? Or makes sure to clean PC regularly to get rid of dust and ants.
