Where do I purchase Intel 1Ghz Xeon CPU?

Hi? I recently purchased a IBM Intellistation. However, I want to upgrade my Xeon CPU, which is currently 667MHZ.
Therefore, I am trying to purchase a new Xeon 1GHz CPU, but there is no machandise where I can buy it. I heard the news about the price drop of 1GHz Xeon CPU (currently $420 some USD). But it's over $1000 from IBM. Is there any place where I can purchase 1GHz Xeon CPU? Please notify me.

i know my amd's but not too much about the old pentiums. what is the advantage of a pentium xeon? y would you get such an expensive chip?

I have tried Pricewatch.com. However, I cannot find any vender which sells pentium III xeon chip. Oh, actually there's one vender where sells 1000Mhz Xeon chip, but there website doesn't sell it. Plus, it was $600 some USD. Way more expensive than the mfr price.
So if anyone knows where I can purchase P3 Xeon chip that runs at 1GHz for $400~$450 USD, please notify me.

I see the prices for the OEM 933 Xeons with 256k cache is ~$500, so I doubt you'll find a real 1000 for cheaper...

(I always discout the very cheapest price on pricewatch when there isn't a close second... usually not legit)

Curious - Where do you get your mfr price? This is the intel dropped price as per a week or so ago?

(and is this the distribution price per thousand?)

I thought 256k cache- it is pentium 3, not xeon (slot 1).
Xeon has 1-2 MB L2 cache, cost 1000$+ (slot 2)
