Question Which combo is best?

i`ve seen many amd vs intel productivity and gaming benchmarks but it looks stupid.
i3-12100F + cheapest z690 mainboard here is = 110+260
R5 4500 + cheapest = 130+50
i know i3-12100F is better but its ultra weird to get a cheap cpu while have to pay tons of money on a expensive mainboard to be able to using its OC feature. who the hell making an unlocked cpu and then creating locked mainboard for it! wtf is this?!

Don't know where you are, but I'd assume it's just another case of "charge what the traffic will bear". As is done daily everywhere for lettuce, shoes, and lumber.

CPU overclocking isn't nearly as popular as it used to be, so board retailers may realize there are still a few overclocking diehards out there who are not sensitive to price and are willing to pay a premium. Extracting the last dollar.

Looks like you are somewhat sensitive to the price, so you probably are not their target customer.
