Which computer is the best?

Hi guys i'm going to buy a computer soon and i need your help to choose with computer is the best.

Both computers are used and it has the same sale price..

Computer 1:

P4, 2.8GHz
1.5 GB of DDR memory
160Gb Hard Drive
ATI Radeon 9550 graphics card
Built-in sound card
Network
Samsung DVD Reader
DVD Burner Philips

Computer 2:

Fujitsu Siemens SCALEO 800S
Intel pentium.3.6 GHz Big Tower
160Gb Hard Drive
1.5GB of DDR memory
graphics card Nvidia GeForce 7800GTX 256MB


So which one is the best?

The second one is best but I don't recommend buying either of them. You can buy a new pc for $400-$500 that would completely obliterate either of those.

Hi naxster - The main point to be considered is "what is the end use of the computer?" - both computers are technologically obsolete. However, either one will be suitable for word processing, and to help out with kids' homework. The hard disks are probably IDE (PATA) and slower than the PATA or SATA hard disks available these days. Therefore not ideal for transferring to a more up-to-date computer later on.

Even if you got either one of these free of cost, the facts that you must consider in reality would be the software that you are planning to purchase and install. Considering 32-bit and 64-bit software, would this software be transferable to a newer computer later?

Another point to keep in mind is the Internet security software - the cost is usually the same whether you are installing it on an old computer or a brand new state-of-the-art computer.
