the point in this thread is to get peoples opion(s) on the diferent setups caus im a professional gamer and was going to up date my system thay are the 2 I was pondering on but i dont really know which to choose since thay are so simlar so that is why I posted this

As for what concerns your setups, the x1950xtx has been shown to be faster in 95% of the games (except for some OpenGl ones) than the 7900GTX, it is ultimately the better card. However, you're pairing it up with a weaker CPU (Athlon-Fx), what gives?

I'd go with the Intel system just because the CPU is faster, and you'll end up upgrading the video card to DX10 in a year or so anyway, if you really are a "professional gamer"

Edit: to the OP Intel with ATi is best, but the 7900gtx is far from a bad card. Ofc you would want to change the mobo if u used the ATi card, I mean you want crossfire right

ya i see what you all are saing the only thing is that thay are given to me by the manifactures of the vid cards(if u dident knotice that one is ATI based and the other is NVIDIA based) so i got to take the setup as is id do the same thing with reguard to the vid cards only for this slight hitch so i was thinking of the intel based one and just go out and buy a ATI vid card what do you all think on that?

in the OP, you list the X6800 with as (no fan) and the other FX-62 (with a fan) do you plan on buying one?

as far as the two setups i would go with the Intel one cause you will be upgrading the graphics cards sooner than the cpu and the 7900GTX is no slouch by any means...although te x1950xtx is faster

Yes you should get the Intel based system and the ATI X1950XTX as your card.

Why not go Intel X6800, on an ASUS P95N32-SLI with the NForce 590 chipset and put on 2x GeForce 7900 GXT, or 1 GeForce 7950 GX2?

To answer your question, Set-Up #1. The X6800 eats the FX-62 for breakfast so bad that the FX-62 has nothing left for the X6800 to eat for lunch or dinner.

As many people have stated, the X1950XTX is overall the more powerful card and that's the one I'd recommend. Check the benchmarks. If there's a particular game you play that the 7900GTX is better at then get that one.

Well seeing as you can't pick and choose the hardware as you have to choose one option, I'd go for the first one.

system #1 + ati 1900 xtx (the 512mb version).
1900 series can run full AA+hdr+all at full basically. Whereas 7900 has some problems concerning running simultaneously hdr+aa.

just saw your other post. Get system #1, sell the 7900 and get the ati one. It's really very simple!

I agree with redwing the X1950XTX is the best video card but the C2D E6800 Is the best cpu on the market. So I would get those 2 components
