Hi I currently have a Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX (Dell) and it is Super Super Super! Loud anyways my Power Supply Is a Corsair CX430 (Great PSU) for the money. Anyways I'm looking at upgrading my Graphics Card. So I've done some research and I want to know of these 4 cards which I should get and is the best Bang for the Buck.

My Choices are:
Radeon HD 5770

Radeon HD 6770

Radeon HD 5850

Radeon HD 6850

All of those cards are basically the same just upgraded in the 6000 line. So which one should I get? I want to play STarcraft II, Diablo III, WOW, BattleField 3, League of Legends, and finally Skyrim :)

SO it has to play those games at mid-Ultra Settings. I'm gonna be shopping on Ebay for a used or new brand of each of those cards. And the power requirement of those 4 cards my Corsair CX430 can handle anything above that it can't handle.

So help me pick a good GPU :)

Solution

Thats a good deal.

I can vouch for everisems.I've bought a open box Z68 from them a couple months ago.Been working perfectly.I guess they pick up open box items(probably for free) from somewhere and re sell them on Ebay.

Unless you get that VisonTek for cheap(less than $50) I wouldn't bid on it.That seller isn't offering returns so unless you get it for cheap it's not a smart idea.

Here's the 6870 listing from everisems...

Seriously this is after I bid on the 6870!!!!! Well I think my PSU can handle it and if it doesn't Corsair has to replace my PSU. and alot fo toher people said the CX430 V2 can hnadle the 6870

anyways thanks for the link :)

MARK MY WORDS LOUD AND CLEAR THE COSAIR CX 430 WILL RUN A SINGLE 6870 NO PROBLEMS ! if the Corsair fails on you I will buy it off you or my names not MMO Fan ;-)

I'll tell you in 25m when the auction ends. I really don't know at the current time.

But I'm really glad i ahve the winning bid 24m before end :) (usually means you will win)

most likely the bid is good to good FTW I am HIGHLY considering picking up a 6870 for $135 plus $8 for Express ground shipping it's a phenomenal deal of performance for the money.

Hahaha.Yah you gotta watch those stealthy people. They sit there waiting until the very last second and they place the highest bid.Happened to me before a couple times.

The CX430 can only deliver 336 watts on the +12/v rail. The 6870 + the Phenom ii x4 965 is around 275 watts. That's just the CPU and GPU though. You still have to add the mobo,RAM,HDD and the CD drive.I just don't think it can handle it(not for an extended period of time anyway).

Add another 50watts to be safe 275watts + 50watts for breathing room = 325 lots of room to spare also not everything takes power from the +12 rail just the CPU and GPU do. Also my +50watts is an overestimate to account for margin of error for all intents and purposes it will be LESS than 50watts under max load.

Well I just told you I'm not using the 6870 i got the 6870 so no problems there and There is no way i'm gonna stress the card I'm just gonna run everything on medium to high to keep temps down the fan cooler down :). my PSU can take it it's tough!!!

Al like the MMO Fan said HDD Ram stuff like that use a different kind of power.

NO its not cutting it to close IDEAL no but very doable I run a 220watt card on what is effectivly a 420watt PSU no problem here plus on top of that I am running an OCed 160watt Phenom II B55 CPU and 3 HDD in RIAD 0 everything is fine 24/7 for a year + and counting.

23watts differential between 6850 and 6870 not a big deal ether way cause OPs PSU is of GOOD QUALITY.

Don't worry man people are much to paranoid about PSUs now in days and it never used to be like this and your PSU is good quality you have nothing to worry about whether on a 6850/70 they will both work just fine.
