my pc:
  • mobo: rog b360f gaming
  • cpu: i7 8700 k
  • gpu: 1080ti
i'm thinking of buying a new ssd for my gaming pc it's almost 6 years old. So i was thinking even though my mobo is pcie 3, buying a pcie 4 nvme ssd will be better in the long run if i ever upgrade my pc.

my current picks are:
  1. ADATA SSD XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE
  2. PNY NVME CS3140
are these two any good? i've seen some people complain about Adata and how theirs broke in a couple weeks. Any other suggestion are appreciated. Thank you!

that's over my budget, got any other reccomendations? and for my pc it works fine LGA1151 supports gen 7 and 8 cpus

No, that's not how it works. Intel 100 and 200 chipsets only run Skylake and Kaby Lake CPUs while 300 chipsets can only run Coffee Lake CPUs. It doesn't matter that they're both technically LGA 1151. Your 7700K will *not* run with a B360 motherboard.

This can be verified in 30 seconds by looking at the compatibility list for the motherboard, which is always something you do when choosing a motherboard.
