Question Why can't 128bit GPUS have 12gb VRAM? The relationship between VRAM and bud width?

Its hard for 192bit graphic cards to have 8gb or 16gb, they usually have 6gb or 12gb. And 128bit usually has 4gb, 8gb or 16gb,
the same for 256bit.

BUT WHY?

I heard that 192bit vram usually has 3gb per chip making it 2x3=6

But why can't 128bit have 12gb? Can't they have 2gb per chip and 2x6?

It wouldn't be practical. Any game that's going to be in a situation where it will require 256-bit bandwidth will have long-exhausted 4GB so there wouldn't be a point

GDDR6 chips currently max out at 16Gb (2GB) capacity and that's a 32-bit interface. To get 12GB on a 128-bit interface that would take 24Gb (3GB) chips which nobody has opted to make. Technically I believe 32Gb (4GB) capacity was supposed to be part of the GDDR6 spec, but never came to fruition.
but 4060 128bit has 16gb vram
